Laura Bell Bundy was hired b/c of Melissa's stroke, but no, Melissa didn't go on b/c Laura was unavailable per se. She was unavailable b/c she wasn't at the theatre. Had KC known she had food poisoning earlier, LBB would've gone on. Just like Eden Espinosa goes on before Kristy Kates would. Where on LBB's site does it say she's the next Glinda? It just says she's the standby? They can hire whoever they want. From what I hear, I hope they hire Melissa Bell Chait.

That's where it says LBB is the next Glinda. Though it is not her actual site, it is the fan site that is associated with www.laurabellbundy.com, which I assume means that they are reasonably careful about misinformation. However, there has been no official announcement by the Wicked folks.

That's not LBB's site. That's her fan club site, but it's probably accurate. At one point, she was called (not just on her site, but also by Stephen Schwartz) Star Replacement, which means she gets first shot at the role.

i think kerry can so do it. she is funny in lsoh and was funny in hairspray. im sure she can hit the hit notes. theres some songs in lsoh were she hits high notes. i hope so. she would have a month to practice.

Well actually LBB is the Kristen's Standby. Big difference. She is the first to go on if Kristen is out. That is the meaning of having a standby. Just FYI. :)

I hope the producers are disregarding who is the standby and who is the understudy and all of that stuff. As I said in a previous post, I have seen all three Glinda's, and while Kristin IS Glinda, there really is no comparison between Chait and Bundy. While Laura obviously has some natural talent, Melissa presented a completely thought out, well developed character and sang the heck out of an extremely difficult part. She also nailed the comedy whereas Laura missed on many of the jokes. I hope it is as clear to the producers and to Mr. Mantello who the next Glinda should be as it is to me and seemingly everyone who has seen the two of them go on.
Rooting for you Melissa! And congrats on your speedy recovery! (Do you like how I am assuming the girl has nothing better to do than read my posts?)

As i said on the other post regarding the same topic. I think maybe they should choose someone new for a little while atleast. I suggested Helen Hayes Nominee LAUREN WILLIAMS. She was Philia in Forum at the Signature Theater in DC, and was amazing, and would be an INCREDIBLE Galinda. did anyone else see her, if so, any other agreements??

Rosemary Ashe. She CAN hit the high notes! She was the original Carlotta in Phantom, and she's very nice in real life. ROSIE ROCKS!!!!!!!!!
