I really love the idea of Marion Cotillard or Kate Winslet as Desiree. I think they're both class acts. Meryl Streep for Armfeldt is interesting, too. Would they have to make her look a little more ragged? She still looks so beautiful to me.
I think it's about time for a good film version!

Emma Thompson as Desiree.
Can anyone really imagine Carol Channing being able to count kings among her lovers? I mean, if you read her autobiography, she does talk a lot about sex...but talking about it and doing it are two very different things.

I think Hathaway could get away with Charlotte, but would be best as Petra. That Miller's Son would be amazing.
In any case, to sell a movie version of this, the stars would have to be plentiful in this cast.

I would like to see Kim Cattrall play Desiree in a film version.

I thought that Catherine Zeta-Jones was great and would love to see her as Desiree on the big screen, if not her then Kristin Scott Thomas. As for Mme. Armfeldt Angela Lansbury must play the role so she could win that Oscar already.
