It's closing Sunday. I'm sure they're doing good business during their final week. Lots of people who probably planned to see it this summer might be seeing it this week.
If last Friday's crowd is any indication, it's probably because they sold all the TDF tickets.

The theater was packed.

It was thoroughly - THOROUGHLY - packed last Saturday night as well. I took my friend who knew absolutely nothing about the play and he cried by the end. Rashad was absolutely exhilirating, ethereally wonderful, and Amy Morton, Mariann Mayberry, Guy Boyd, John Cullum and Liz Ashley were all REALLY on. I'm sad to see this show go.

Honestly, all the detracting of Rashad on these boards prior to her stepping into this role is something I now find laughable. She was a volcano on that stage - a volcano that appears to be moving slowly and soundlessly, merely because it as it a distance.

Still, I can't deny I was nostalgic for Estelle the moment I heard Violet's voice first pierce the show. :)

That blows. I told my two friends - one has a birthday - that i'd take them to August this week because she wanted to go, and figured a $30 isn't too bad, but now the cheapest i can find is like $60, ha. I can't afford all that.
There's always the rush if you're a student. You'll just have to bring them (or two other students) down with you as it's one ticket per ID. Updated On: 6/24/09 at 01:01 AM
^ And VERY early, because they "sell out" (yeah...right) very soon after the box office opens, regardless of whether the show is selling out or selling 20% of seats.

Sucks. I should have snagged them when I had the chance. Well, if anyone sees them on there, give me a heads up.
Any idea how much they're running for on TKTS? would it be cheaper to do it on TKTS or on Broadway Box? Broadway box comes out to be 202 for 3
I would suspect so....but if you are going over the weekend, there may not be tix ON TKTS. (Closing weekend and all.)

(Sorry that I don't have specific info.)

I don't know if they are still doing this since its the last week, but if you find the people watching around the streets advertising it, you can get a flyer for $39 seats mezz. I did that at the beginning of the month.
It's a great play. It's long, but time just zips by...... Thoroughly enjoyed it.
Oh i've seen it, and I loved it, so I'm not too pissed about spending the money because I know it's worth it, but its still a big chunk of change, but oh well.
