It's just what the title says. Why did Barrett leave? I'm so very interested
She said that her role was taking over her real life.

she called out sick, got caught playing hooky, freaked out on a fellow cast member for "ratting on her" and was "let go" (short version)
I've heard a few variations of what happened. None were flattering to her or her professionalism.
Didn't she perform under the influence a few times, or was that just a rumor?
Heard both those things, and she was a diva to the entire cast. She's pretty average, but seems to get getting new roles so...whatever.
No matter what she did, calling her talent average is just a lie. She is leagues above many actresses her age that are trying to break out, and she is consistently working and doing very well in all those productions.
Barrett "may be" a lot of things, but one thing she absolutely isn't, is averagely talented.
She's way better than average.
Which is why it's such a shame that she isn't more professional.
I think she's way more than average too.
I'm really looking forward to seeing what she does with the role of Sally in Signature's Cabaret in a couple of months
Wasn't the end of Lea Michele's Broadway arc a whole plot reference to the Heathers fiasco?
Spoiler Request: What happened at the end of GLEE? I haven't watched since season 3...
I also heard several horror stories that supposedly came from the cast of HEATHERS. Apparently she was a nightmare to work with... but since those were all tales being passed on from people who had heard from so and so and so on and so on... I don't know how valid they were.
Can someone elaborate on these horror stories? :P Just curious.

Tumblr's obsession with Heathers fueled this particular rumor mill for quite a while, so I would take everything with a very big grain of salt. But I heard that several accusations of diva behavior and a couple of things about performing whilst drunk were big causes. Never heard the playing hooky thing, but it could easily be true.
It's a shame though. I thought Barrett really carried the show and elevated some of the weaker parts of the material (when Heathers works, it works. When it doesn't, it falls flat on its face). Clearly she's not having any trouble finding work, and I'm very interested to see how she does with Sally Bowles, but I sincerely hope she has become more professional following the Heathers debacle.
I saw her in Found at the Atlantic not long ago. I thought she was good, but nothing extraordinary. Nothing at a level that she could get away with diva behavior, anyway.
I saw Found too, and IMO, she did as much with the role as any good actress could have. The role, unlike Veronica, didn't allow for much of a transformation.
