It's illegal to make audience members rub Vaseline on their eyes.
Afraid of critics? Afraid of audience? Movie star endurance laziness? Un directable? Afraid of Rosie?

I'm going to write TURTLENECK: THE MUSICAL for her.
"Turtleneck: The Musical". Featuring music by Alan & Marilyn Bergman. Featuring the showstopper, "STFU-The Yentl Goes Mental Ballet"
Is it possible the OP simply doesn't know?
broadway guy, Streisand has been saying since she left the OBC of FUNNY GIRL that she is "too lazy" (her words) to do 8 shows per week. She has said she'd rather make a movie and then sit in her bathtub while she simultaneously appears on movie screens all over the world.
In her occasional concert tours, she can play bigger houses, charge more money and work a less demanding schedule.
She was in talks to do a musical version of 'Night, Mother until she found out she wasn't playing Jessie.

She'd have to do the show in takes.

Thankyou GavestonPS.Thats all I really wanted to know.
You're very much welcome. Not everyone agrees, but I see nothing wrong with coming here to ask for information. There are few questions that somebody here can't answer.

Well no one's been able to tell me why Loretta Swit hasn't become the mega star she should be!

If I had the answer, I'd tell you, Dolly. You know I would.

It isn't just laziness. Barbra has often cited rehearsals and previews for "Funny Girl" were the fun. Once the show was frozen, when the discoveries were mostly finished, she got bored.

Cuz that bitch has had her face lifted so many times, she can lick her forehead.

And her critics say the same thing. William Goldman writes in THE SEASON that by the end of her run in FUNNY GIRL, it was like watching Jerry Lewis.
But I was just quoting the lady herself, Owen.
Loretta Swit is kind of a weirdo and pain in the ass.
THE SEASON is so incredible. I urge anyone who hasn't read it to do so ASAP. Having something written right at that moment that actually says how people weren't impressed with Babs, when time has turned her performance into something every single person who ever saw it says was life altering, is really fascinating.
Jordan, I reread it at least once a year and each time I find I can't put it down. Yes, some of the Broadway economics are now dated, but Goldman's observations on the theater as entertainment and art still hold true.
I should write a book about the coming season with all kinds of witty remarks on shows like MOTOWN and A CHRISTMAS STORY that will be discussed for decades to come.
:sigh: Good luck with that, JC!
