mr jordan catolamo..**** off!!...Barbra Streisand is one of the greatest performers of all time...and all u can do is say the lame tired old joke about aging women needing vasaline to hide behind...honey she dont need to hide from anything...she is aging just fine and i for one am looking forward to seeing her this Christmas in her new movie with Seth Rogan...i cant wait till that pretty face of your avatar turns 70!~

I take more offence of his dated views of theatre queen audiences (even if there may be some truth to them)--but it is a *great* read otherwise.

Hasn't Babs also complained about stage fright? Of course if she does tours she's probably conquered that... (I still find it odd that her upcoming tour is half Canadian dates--including Vancouver where people never seem to go--yet so far has no California dates--I would go if I had 300-600 bucks to spend right now).

It's basically all the above. She gets horrible stage fright. Yes she tours, but it's all 110% telepromptered and she's nervous and sick the entire time.

Yes, she has admitted to being "too lazy." Yes, she could probably do a 10 week run, only commit to 4 or 6 shows a week, but the amount of money she would make wouldn't be worth her time, considering they'd have to pay other actor/musicians, run costs, paying off the principle, AND her more than likely large hunk of the total weekly gross. She doesn't have the drive to do it just for the challenge or art. She's said this in many interviews.

She never set out to be a theatre star. She ALWAYS wanted to be a movie star and singer. Growing up in NYC broadway was merely a means to an end for her quest. It was a way to get seen and noticed and launch her into mega stardom (back in the days this was still entirely possible).

Her son Jason now lives in New York and he is still a hottie. Not that it has anything to do with anything.

That's exactly why, Eric. She's said it's basically everyone expects her to sound exactly like that one take of "Rain on My Parade" she recorded 40 years ago every single time she sings it and she hates disappointing them and not being "perfect"

don't get me wrong, she's really talented, but she's getting old. isn't she like late 60's now? i think she may even be like 70...... my favorite song of hers is "whos afraid of the big bad wolf". her rendition of "ding dong the witch is dead" is awesome too.

I'm the one who first brought up that quote and I assume her to mean she isn't fond of the task of keeping a role the-same-but-fresh 8 times per week for months or years on end.

The woman has released more than 50 albums, starred in and/or directed any number of movies, and rebuilt and redecorated her estate from the ground up. She has also done considerable work for political causes and appears to be a loving wife and mother.

Obviously, she isn't "lazy" in the usual sense of the word, meaning she likes to lay on the couch and watch REAL HOUSEWIVES.
