yes well, in reality people cant just make a show that they want. They need money to pay for it and to pay the actors, so they have to appeall to tourists or else they'll go down. Sorry.

Redhot- I love Camelot (and tSJoM- my favorite song)! My dream role is Guenevere...if I only had the singing voice for her...

And Derek- "You all say the show was soooo boring, and yet it must have been too complicated to understand cuz most of u dont know what happened in the end lol."

The people who didn't understand what happened in the end LIKED the show. I read the book- I know what really happened. And I understood it too- shocker!

That was honestly the dumbest comment I have heard in the argument- don't question my intelligence, hun. Updated On: 8/25/04 at 04:30 PM

LadyG, i love you...

and also, i didn't think the show was so boring as much as disappointing... there were moments i enjoyed, in fact teared up during For Good, and laughed during Popular, but as a whole, it just. didn't. satisfy. Updated On: 8/25/04 at 04:32 PM

"According to the Time Dragon Clock, the melting occurred in the thirteenth hour, the direct result of a bucket of water thrown by a female child. Yes, the Wicked Witch of the West is dead."

How else do you think the people found out?

I've read the book, understood the show perfectly, and loved it anyway. The show does not have the perfect ending, as it very well could have.

emu, that's a good quote from the book, but what was it's purpose in the show?

i don't know if that was a joke or not, but i'm gonna pretend it wasn't.

Glinda says that in the show *sigh*.

Emutional - unfortunately, that last assinine remark of yours is correct - and THAT, my friends, is why theatre is taking it's last breaths even as we type...what a freaking shame.
Lady G...just for you:
Before I gaze at you again, I'll need a time for tears
Before I gaze at you again, let hours turn to years...
I have so much forgetting to do, before I try and gaze again at you
Stay away until you cross my mind, barely once a day
- 'til that moment I awake and find, I can smile and say:
That I may gaze at you again, without a blush or qualm.
My eyes ashine like new again, my manner poised and calm.
Stay far away - My Love, Far Away...
'til I forget I gazed at you today...today...today...
(now I'm sitting here at my desk crying - what a big Baby I am!)

"I don't really get the ending, all i can go with is when after several months,Judith saw Pat sang, and later she kissed him on the toilet, after that the story back to where Pat went down from the stage after he'd sung, and he went to the italian lady.I just don't get it,what Judith exatcly meant when he kissed Pat that she had seen, and did Pat end up together with The Italian Lady? Please help me,thank u very much!" Quote from someone on IMDB in reference to a movie he/she didn't understand. Such grammar!

I've been staying out of this...but I can't anymore.

THEY FOUND OUT FROM GLINDA, NOT THE FRIGGIN' CLOCK!!!! THE CLOCK IS REFERENCED IN ORDER TO PINPOINT THE TIME OF DEATH!!!! HAVE YOU NEVER SEEN AN EPISODE OF 'ER'????

Yes...I was shouting. And I enjoyed it.

haha, not everything is about all of u guys. i wasnt ?ing u. i was ?ing some other people who said they were bored...and than also said they were confused. You dont have to like it, or understand it. I dont think the producers of wicked or avenue q care what goes on on this board lol, they will both be open for a long time. they tried (the creative team). people are just so hard to please. And ur right, i should see avenue q. But that wont matter cuz ill still like Wicked, idk if better, but ill still like it and defend it. i just feel bad for all these talented people who tried so hard to put this show together and people dont even respect it. u cant argue with that, try a search. ull see things like "wicked sucks" "wicked sucks A**"

much love to everyone, even people who dont like wicked :)! I feel like Im one of those political arguers on CNN lol

Redhot- Aw, I love those lyrics! (For some reason I'm thinking of different ones from the end...but maybe it's the version I saw). My other fav-

"And after all had been said, here we are, my love,
Silent once more, and not far, my love,
From where we were before."

And Derek, we're not comparing Wicked to AVENUE Q. We're comparing it to all the musicals on Broadway, that were ON broadway...and this isn't even close to CNN. Unfortunately.

derek, there are plenty of people who respect it... which is why it's doing so well... i respect it's source material, but i don't respect what was done with it... for me, it couild have been so much better... but also, i admit that i went in with high expectations because i loved the book so much... and this is where my disappointment comes from...

Maybe I'm crazy. Or maybe I'm high. Or maybe I just didn't pay attention both times I saw the show...but isn't the line you quoted one of Glinda's lines???

I never said consistancy was one of this show's stongpoints, now did I?

But you have to tell me how the clock told everybody she's dead. I mean...it doesn't talk...it doesn't have a ticker like that building in Time Square.

How did it tell them? Please. Explain.

seeing as how I grew up in oz...

I'm only going by what's in the show. Glinda says "according to the time dragon clock" meaning that the clock "told" them, how it did i don't know, that the melting occured at _____. Therefore, wouldn't you assume the the clock told them that she died, since the wizard didn't, Glinda didn't, Morrible didn't, Elphaba certainly didn't, and the first thing that we see taking place is the dragon going spastic?

I think it talks in the book. I mean it has a mouth and it seems very much alive in the beginning of the musical lol. Idk, maybe the Wizard controlls what the clock says. he's a bastard and controls everything else lol. idk. all i know is ::dont read on if u dont want to know:: she fakes her death :)
