If the Wicked movie does actually happen, out of curiosity, do you think they will cast broadway vets in the lead roles or cast more well known hollywood actors like they did in Les Mis and Rock of Ages? I do know that Hugh Jackman has alot of musical theatre background but more recently he's been involved alot in Hollywood.

They'll cast whomever they think can sell the most tickets regardless of whether the person can sing the score or not.
The casting has already been announced! Didn't you hear? Lea Michele is playing Elphaba and Anna Kendrick is playing Glinda. I'm really excited for this.
Yes it is, Jordan. Ryan Murphy told me himself. He is directing it.

Angela Lansbury for Morrible
I think Jennifer Lawrence would make a really good Elphaba! I know she can sing great but I'm not sure if she can belt it out.

They'll probably do what they're doing for Into the Woods (which I'm not opposed to).

Meryl Streep will play Elphaba and G(a)linda.
I really think Meryl Streep will end up playing Madame Morrible. Lea Michele better not play Elphaba, Willemijn all the way (even though by the time it would happen, she would be too old)

Didn't Stephen Schwartz say that he really wanted unknown actors in the lead roles? In his Broadway.com Show People interview? No?

Ben Platt is a must for Boq.
Lena Hall as Elphaba please! Hugh Jackman as The Wizard maybe? Either Meryl Streep or Helena Bonham Carter as Morrible (I know they would both be very different takes on the role, but I think equally as great)
I don't really care about the rest of the cast, but Daniel Radcliffe needs to be Boq.
Here are some of my ideas:
Elphaba:
Samantha Barks
Christine Dwyer
Glinda:
Annaleigh Ashford
Fiyero:
Ansel Elgort
Grant Gustin
Kyle Dean Massey
Aaron Tveit
Nessarose:
Kelli Barrett
Emily Behny
Lilla Crawford
Boq:
Sam Lupton
Andy Mientus
Lee Slobotkin
Taylor Trensch
Madame Morrible:
Glenn Close
Angela Lansbury
Helen Mirren
The Wizard:
F. Murray Abraham
Morgan Freeman
Kevin Kline
John Lithgow
Christopher Lloyd
Doctor Dillamond:
Andy Serkis

I have a big hunch this is gonna be a Christmas of 2018 film. A lot of those casting choices being suggested are just too old, let alone will be far too old by the time the movie starts filming. I would think more in the range of the Hailee Steinfelds, or Zendayas of right now...starlets in their 18s or early 20s with the acting/singing experience. I'm sure other young stars will emerge in the next few years so I wouldn't be set on a lot of these choices for Elphaba/Glinda/Fiyero/Boq.
However, I still stand by Hugh Jackman as The Wizard with J.K. Simmons as Doctor Dillamond. If they go for a woman of color for Morrible, sign me up for Queen Latifah. If this gets going in the next few years, I'd also love to see Shaileen Woodley as Nessarose.
Please keep in mind that Wicked spans across two different decades, so I think the main actors should probably be in their late 20's-early 30's in order to pass as both young adults in college and adults many years later.
I would love to see Bette Midler and Steve Martin as Morrible and The Wizard.

Amanda Seyfried ( Mamma Mia! and Les Miserables) as Glinda
Anna Kendrick ( Pitch Perfect 1 &2) as Elphaba
All four movies were released by Universal Pictures.
Just guessing
