Could/will this happen? I feel like it won't, because we're six months out from 2016 which is the rumored start and there hasn't been any announcements. What do you guys think?

I asked a cast member from the 2NT about this in February, and he said that there was an idea in the works of possibly opening another tour 4 or 5 years down the road.

I checked the Wikipedia website for wicked, yes I know it's Wikipedia but who really cares about editing the wicked page unless it's something true, and in the production tab and in the Chicago row it said there was going to be a production starting in January 2017. So could this be the next tour planned?

Wikipedia also says Nia Hallaway (spelling is actually Holloway if I assume they are talking about the actress currently on the National Tour) was the original Nala in The Lion King so....

Would this be a surprise? This show was the biggest commercial hit of the 00's. It probably will have a whole bunch of national tours.

It may not necessarily mean that you will have three companies touring simultaneously. It could be a case of one of the other companies shutting down (probably the first, or maybe even both) and opening the third company using a copy of the scaled back set that the second company is currently touring with.

Thanks, Tag, I admit that I had completely forgotten about that happening. Though I enjoyed the show when I saw it way back when, it hasn't been one that's remained very high on my radar to keep track of.

Exactly. Wicked will likely not loose it's spark for a long time to come. I've seen it 9 times so far, and I'm certainly not done with it yet.

I have you beat. I was living in SF when Idina and Kristen were doing the out of town run before Broadway, and after the show, my friend and I were like, that won't make it. heh.

I loved it when I saw it as my second show as a little un, but now the songs grate on my ears due to how overplayed they are.

The last twenty minutes of Act one and most things that follow in Act two are quite enjoyable, it's just a pity that you need to sit through the first 80.

I got into Wicked around 2009, and I'm a little over it now, but even now I would gladly see it again if ever given the chance. Too much nostalgia to just turn my back on it completely.
