For the time being or at least when I saw it in Toronto, she doesn't fly. That may change however depending on the venue. However the show is so artfully done that one does not really notice until one starts thinking about it seriously afterwards!

If the question is does she fly like in NY then I believe so...she is lifted on the platform crane thing like in NYC
She now flies as in with a harness in No Good Deed though..but they might not do it cuz of Steph's injuries...iono

Posted: 3/30/05 at 7:40amI didnt know she flies.?? In the tour, without flying in DG what DID she do, just stand in the middle of the stage??

she is lifted on a platform for DG...she isn't flying really.
She is snapped into a rollercoaster-like harness that is on a platform under her feet..the extra amounts of dress are attached to the platform and once the extras snap her in the computer says it's ok and she is lifted. If she is not snapped in right *which happens cuz of all the material* she will NOT be lifted.

Are we talking about "Defying Gravity"? Because on tour, she definitely flies at the end of "Defying Gravity" -- the same staging as in New York.

Hi Jake, here's the cast at the tour website.
Widked tour cast and bios
re: Wicked Tour Question?#16
Posted: 3/30/05 at 6:55pmIm pretty sure she still flies at the end of Defying Gravity, and they added a flying intro for No Good Deed because there were no trap doors in the theatre or some problem with a trap door entrance like in NYC which as far as I know the place she got hurt. Not sure what happens now though.

StephanieTheStar- We know she is on a platform. We just refer to it as 'flying' because, well... Elphaba is flying. *The actress* might not be, but *the character* is.
Yes, admanrich... The flying in "No Good Deed" was added for when a theatre does not have trap door capabilities. But after Stephanie's injury, we're not really sure if this new effect will be sticking around.
