Will On Your Feet have a long run?

I'll be in NYC this November and I really want to see this show. Is it doing well or do you think it might close before then?

It's doing fine right now. They don't always hit the $900k - $1m mark, but unlike many others they don't have to worry as much about Nederlander pulling out the stop clause (unless someone big wants the house or their costs get out of control).

I think that it should still be there in November. I don't think that they have lost money one week yet.

Thanks guys! Good to know

On Your Feet is one of the few successful shows that has played at the Marquis in recent years. I'm sure the Nederlander's won't mind having a steady tenant there.

Estefan is intending to replace a role in the show, so you're at least safe until that happens.

My guess is this show is safe through the holidays. After that, all bets are off.

Not to be confused with Dave19.

Not only do the Nederlanders not mind, they are lead producing it, so... Like I said, unless all hell breaks loose, you should be fine.

I took a pass on it as I know their story and would prefer seeing the music in the context of a concert rather than a show.

But that's just me.

It seems to be doing fine though.

After seeing the Tonys, I think it was a good call for me. Personally. Didn't look all that interesting to me. And really didn't see the singing appeal of the guy playing Emilio. Second time I've seen him doing that number and the second time wasn't any better than the first, IMO.

Just doesn't do it for me. Love GE and MSM and would just prefer seeing them in concert again I think.

Whether or not it made the most of its 4 minutes the other night was debated here on the boards, with some thinking so, some thinking not. If it has appeal….story….music….whatever….hopefully it has that successful run so those who want to see it can.

I absolutely loved it. So beautifully put together imo. It should stay around for a LONG time. You will certainly enjoy it.

I LOVE this show and wish it a long run. I have seen it four times. It is just such a fun show.

TerrenceIsTheMann, any way you can elaborate? I have seen the show but one of the leads was out. I intend to go back to see both Josh and Ana perform together. Hope you don't mean that either of them will be replaced soon.

That was the rumor that was posted on this board a few weeks ago. It is unconfirmed if and when she will join the show. Also, it is all speculation as to whether she will play the part of her mother or grandmother, as she is too old to play herself in the show.

^ I think the implication was that Estefan herself would be appearing in the show. (Probably in Andrea Burns' role?) Though I love the idea of Gloria Estefan playing Emilio.

It's closing the day before you're coming to NYC.

Felm_heart and Dave13, thank you for the clarification! I misunderstood the post and thought that one of the leads was being recast (not that Gloria herself was going to appear in the show). :)

Sources with the show have confirmed Ana has extended her run in the show so she'll be there for some time. Her 1 year contract with the show was renewed several weeks ago. I expect this is the case with all the principals as Andrea Burns enjoys long runs in shows.

I speculate Gloria Estefan will fill-in for Andrea when she leaves on a vacation break. Same as when Bianca Marroquin filled in for her when she took a vacation break during her run in IN THE HEIGHTS. Just a fill-in gig; not a replacement gig, plus it's a nice temporary boost to the show.
