Probally not.
Not unless he creates a show that has the success of Wicked and the scores to the likes of Pippin, Godspell, and Rags.

i think of hunchback ever comes to broadway... that might be a good chance for him to win... i think the music and lyrics to that show are wonderful... and yes i know he only did lyrics...
Maybe. If he ever writes decent lyrics since the award is for music and lyrics.

Yes, I think so.
He is running out of time, but I think he will.
Well, do you know what Stephen Schwartz is currently writing music for?

The guy is sixty. How many shots does he have left?
And following Wicked...
That said, I think he's going to get one. Definitely.
Not to be a cynical jerk, but watching him lose is quite hilarious.
What about a Lifetime Achievement Award sometime in the future?
Or do you need to have just a little more achievement?
I don't think he will...
i agree its funny hearing all the stories of him storming out of awards shows.
I'm sorry to say this but ... who cares. The body of work speaks for itself. His shows are done all the time, winning a Tony will not matter.
Look back in history, some of the shows that won Tonys are long forgotten, while those that didn't are still very alive today. A Tony award may matter in the initial run, but in the end , good shows will survive and bad shows will go away, even if they won a "Tony".
He is currently working on the musical Working which will open at the Old Globe in San Diego. It is a collaboration with James Taylor and Lin Miranda.
They're revising it; it's been around for a while.
i think he'll win if he collaborates with someone but alone I don't think so

Here's the thing.
Stephen Schwartz needs to ADMIT that he is gay.
He IS.
And until he says it, I'm in the "not caring" position.
He will remain the Susan Lucci of the Tonys.

Really Ziggy? They gave a whole bunch to Jerry Herman while he was in the closet.
Yeah, but that was back when all the Tony voters were still in the closet too.
