How often are window cards available within the first couple of previews at the theatre? Or should
i not be expecting anything on the third preview. Thanks

You really never know. Depending on what show it is there could be plenty, none, or anything in between. Depends more on the vendors than anything else.

According to a friend who does merch, it seems the window cards have to go through an approval process and that can hold them up. I know I had to wait for a show window card because of this.

Since this is already an existing production, aside from the souvenir program, the windowcard and other merchandise should be available first day of previews. Original productions delay certain merchandise due to many changes going on during previews, which many times has been cast changes. After opening, the roll out of new merchandise starts surfacing.

Yes, I agree, you have a better chance of Cabaret having availability right away.
