But I enjoy WaterParks.
Don't we all...
But personally, I enjoy me a high-quality Broadway show much more.
Which will we get?!?!
*cue dramatic DUN DUN DUUUUUUUN!*
We passed the Lunt theatre while walking the city last week, and it was really cool to see them loading up. I've never passed a broadway theatre while they were doing that!
It's called "loading out"
Mermaid doesn't load in for a few weeks.
DISNEY could still be making a mil a week with BEAUTY if ego were not involved.
They dont fool around, Disney. Man.
Thats really crazy.
I can't wait to walk by and take a picture next week. :]
Well Curtain, considering BATB was doing so well before the closing was announced, and Disney needed a large enough house to put Mermaid in, it makes sense it was closed. Do you honestly think the show could be pulling in a million a week if it hadn't announced a closing?
Maybe, it usually made about 700 to 800 thousand a week in the Summer.
When THE PRODUCERS announced they were closing the numbers did not go up.
But we will never know will we?
There were so many politics concerning the closing of BEAUTY it would make your head spin.
"No, that's an Aquatic pun"
"A pun is funny right, where's the joke?
That it's gonna flop like GOOD VIBRATIONS?"
Or like "it'll flop like a dead fish"
I have serious doubts about this one and I'll admit, I'm said Beauty and the Beast is gone.
People actually think this will flop? Really?
Given the popularity of the story, I dont think there is any chance of it being a "flop". My guess is that it is going to be much better than "MP", and that show is doing very well.

Mister Matt, I take it you watch Big Brother 8 by that picture of Amber crying haha!
Got my tickets for January 9 - the theatre looked good when I stopped by!
I should re-phrase. I don't *think* it will flop. I only *hope* it flops. But don't listen to me...I'm just bitter. I don't wanna put a damper on things for people looking forward to it. I just can't get over BatB closing yet.
I just don't get why Little Mermaid couldn't just move in after Tarzan closed and Beauty and the Beast could be left alone. Makes me sad.
No, I was talking to Curtain, who has the idea this show will flop.

Do not hope a show flops, please. That is not a very kind thing to do. Beauty had a 13 year run...nothing to feel a loss over.
It's not like Little Mermaid attacked Beauty and threw it out. There were probably lots of politics involved.
And why would Disney make a big show like Mermaid go into the boxed Rodgers?

WW11: Curtain thinks every Disney show Mary Poppins and onward is doomed.
no, I don't
Poppins will run
I look at the numbers

No offense, but you've certainly made it seem like that...especially with your stubborn doubts about Poppins all season.
Curtain, not that I'm a Disney supporter, but you DO seem to post a lot of negative sh!t, and then offer no backup.
I don't know if you have some kind of vendetta, but it's really annoying.
I had concerns that DISNEY was keeping a money sucker like TARZAN open and closing BEAUTY, sorry if that offended.
I can't possibly dream of having a vendetta against a corporation like DISNEY THEATRICALS, they will survive without the rantings of a working drone like me.
My back up is the weekly grosses and what I hear from my fellow back stage workers.
You all deserve your own opinions.
as do I.
I actually applaud DISNEY for producing shows, they have the bucks, go for it.
But they should have a little more faith in the talent they hire and repect them.
Since THE LION KING opened there has never been a picture of any cast member outside of that Theatre, or TARZA or MARY POPPINS.
I say have respect for the talent.
Go ahead shoot me down.

I won't shoot you...
I just needed, along with others, apparently, an explanation for your opinions since they are so strong.
I agree with you that they should have cast members' photos outside the theatres. It's rather annoying and foolish.
So...thank you for making things a little more clear.
(End...?)
"Go ahead shoot me down. "
Oh, don't try to make yourself a martyr now.
I can hope a show will close all I want, it doesn't mean it'll happen. That's just how I feel and I'm not gonna feel any different. I just think Beauty and the Beast is a better story than Little Mermaid, I don't like the songs from Little Mermaid...my opinion is that Beauty and the Beast deserved to stay no matter how long it played before it closed.
And also, there's no need to say things like "shoot me down". We're just having a debate. Happens a lot here. Just because someone disagrees doesn't mean they're being mean.

I can't really disagree with your hope. For me, I can only disagree with ideas.
I wasn't shooting you down, either. Simply put, I said it's not kind to say things like that. Why would you hope ill fall upon a show? That's my gripe. ::shrugs::
People throw parties around here when something they didn't like closed. I'm apparently the only person on earth who doesn't want to see Little Mermaid succeed so don't get upset over my one teeny tiny singular opinion or hope or whatever.

You're making it seem like a bigger issue than I am making it. I am not, and was not, attacking you. Don't be so "don't pick on poor little me", because I am not.
I was letting you know that I, and surely others, do not agree with wishing ill upon a show, large or small. It's just something that comes off as immature and vindictive.
By the way...there is a difference between "coming off" and being "kind of" and actually BEING.
