Did anyone else think that was kinda....bad???
except for cheyenne jackson of course :)
I dunno I thought it was kind of awful.
I thought it wasn't as magical as when I saw it live - it was odd. the singing wasn't bad but the environment was, does that make sense?
I loved Kelly skating with Cheyenne "Are the cameras still running?"
I wasn't too impressed. It wouldn't make me want to go see it. I'm still rooting for them, though!
It was horrible. They didn't even stay in character.

I listened to it on the radio at work and it didn't SOUND too awful...and I thought Cheyenne and Kerry came off really well in the interview segments.
It is true, though, that this show doesn't particularly lend itself to these little one-off things...the Macy's Parade and "The View" appearances were pretty awful...three minutes out of context just doesn't get how much fun the whole show is.
Hoping tomorrow's CBS appearance comes of well...and that we see some familiar faces in the audience.
I missed it. When will they put it up on the Regis and Kelly site? Today or tomorrow?
The shows are usually on the site the next day.

I didn't think it was bad, moreso the cast reacting to a really weird performing environment not to mention Kerry Butler awkwardly having to sing a song she doesn't normally do as well as be the only person on roller-skates and really have nothing much to do while on them. But I still love Xanadu!
Also, how about Regis' inability to pronounce Clio or Kira?
Thanks. I saw the first three this week and missed this one, the main one I wanted to see.
It was kinda awkward I thought. The show would have been better served with Mary Testa and Jackie Hoffman doing "Evil Woman".
Videos of the performances are NOT put up on the LIVE WITH REGIS & KELLY site the next day but several hours later -- after most of the affiliates have aired the show. I've posted the website links to the other performances about 6 hours AFTER they aired.
I'll do the same for this morning's XANADU performance in a few hours.
Will they include the interview or just the performance?
Nope. The LIVE WITH REGIS & KELLY website only has the performance. Nothing more; nothing less.
Since the performances appear at the very end of the show, the interviews only last a few quick seconds -- they are not sit-down full segment interviews.
You guys are just ridiculous! I just watched the segment and it went over quite well. Yes, Kerry was pitchy (her mic level was set too high and she knew this), but at least she got to sport her real hair instead of the wig she wears in the show. Heck! They even brought glow-sticks for the audience to wave!
Considering the super tiny stage area they had, they managed to incorporate quite a bit in that short segment -- Cheyenne rolled on a mirrored disco ball and hooked it up AND the dancers had a few moments of choreography. Yikes!
All the other shows represented had a solo artist standing in place and singing their song. XANADU provided so much more.
I've never seen the show, but I really enjoyed the performance! I didn't think that Kerry usually sang that song. I wonder if they're going to do something like that at the Tony Awards....
I kinda liked it! Kerry singing Tony Roberts verse sounded much better coming from her 'cause she has a great voice. Too bad the website doesn't have the little interview part. I loved Kelly on skates & her goo-goo-eyed reaction to Cheyenne
It was actually much better than some of the other live performances, save for "South Pacific" with O'Hara & Szot. Watch out for tomorrow... Taylor Hicks will probably be singing 'Beauty School Drop-out' from "Grease" which could be scary.
EDIT: Correction - The "SP" perf was on The View not Regis & Kelly. And you're so right Brody - the other individual performances this week were pretty bad.

It was awful. Totally amateurish looking.
There is absolutely no point in stringing up a mirror ball if the stage is totally flooded with light. You can't see the mirror ball lighting effect.
I really liked it. I haven't seen Xanadu so I didn't know if they weren't in character, or if the disco ball was pointless. I think it was a better performance than the ones from Little Mermaid and Catered Affair.
My mom who hasnt seen Xanadu but knows I have a couple of times thought it was "fun" but a little sloppy. When I watched the video online I was suprised how much they actually changed from the show and how it might give someone who hasn't seen it the wrong impression. But I still enjoyed the performance. Frankly, Broadway performances on TV are pretty rare (save Tony week and Macy's Thanksgiving Parade) I'll take what I can get and enjoy it.
