I really liked it. I haven't seen Xanadu so I didn't know if they weren't in character, or if the disco ball was pointless. I think it was a better performance than the ones from Little Mermaid and Catered Affair.
My mom who hasnt seen Xanadu but knows I have a couple of times thought it was "fun" but a little sloppy. When I watched the video online I was suprised how much they actually changed from the show and how it might give someone who hasn't seen it the wrong impression. But I still enjoyed the performance. Frankly, Broadway performances on TV are pretty rare (save Tony week and Macy's Thanksgiving Parade) I'll take what I can get and enjoy it.
It was kind of random. The thing is, there really needs to be context, maybe with opening dialogue. It seemed like a concert with really ugly clothes and very bizarre choreography.

There's normally a lot more that goes on during that song.
For those who haven't seen the show... POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT...
that song is performed while they're all fixing up the club, and the disco ball & XANADU sign go up at the end.

kerry and Cheyenne actually had a chance to talk with regis and kelly which was great! hard to sell a show in a 3 minute spot
Regis & Kelly may have been the better venue for "Don't Walk Away" while this may have been better for the bigger stage at the Tonys.
It was an alright performance. The cast was fine, but the staging felt very awkward and cramped. I agree with Eris, this song would have been the better choice for the Tonys.
Never thought I could be more jealous of Kelly Ripa until today...and Regis, bless his heart...
Anyway, in the words of a certain Randy Jackson, "Dude, you know, it was just alright for me."
I'm one of the people who think that All Over The World is a terrible choice to sing live, because one of the two songs that works the least out of context, as the actual staging is too prop-dependant and the choreography doesn't make sense.
That said, I think they performed it as well as they could. Kerry knew she had an uphill climb, and aside from one note (where she had to sing Tony Roberts' part for chrissake!), she did quite well - though no one could doubt that she would!
Cheyenne was of course great, as were the rest of the ensemble. Though what was up with Patti and Andre getting into skates for the chat segment if only to stand there?
I really just hope their effort to shoehorn Kerry into Don't Walk Away on Sunday doesn't backfire, because that is a brilliant number in itself which can very easily be derailed as well.
After watching all the performances so far, Alli Mauzey was by far the best.
Xanadu wasn't thats bad though, I think the audience gets that it's supposed to be cheesy.

I agree. Mauzey was terrific.

I thought it was pretty awkward, but not necessarily bad. I was really excited to see it, I cringed when they first started; no one seemed to know where to move. I thought everyone sounded great, though. And Kelly was too cute with Cheyenne.

The performance felt weird. And Kerry sounded off. I don't know. I loved the show but if I saw that performance, I would be hesitant to go see the show.
Ehh the performance was a little awkward. But I loved the "interview" afterwards. Is anyone else a little jealous of Kelly after watching that?
"That's how they grow them in Idaho!"
I liked it. Kerry was a little awkward at the beginning, but after a that first spin move they did, it was OK. My sister thought it kinda looked like some high school production though...
I was just going to say that. I have not seen one show that was on Regis that was anywhere near as good as when you see it in the theatre.
I thought their performance was great!
oh..its not that bad! they have to redo it bec. the stage version includes the participation of onstage audience (Xanadu Restoration part)
I like it. Kerry looks so pretty! I am happy to see Cheyenne & Kyle Dean Massey!

It looked really cheesy... it reminded me of the "I'm Somebody" scene from the Dreamgirls movie

I just watched it, expecting the worst, it's fine. Cheyenne was perfect as always, the company was full of energy and giving it their all, and Kerry's voice was a little off. It is not painful.
Xanadu is one of my favs and yet i was also feeling that it was a bit awkward on the show yesterday. That choreography isn't normally all in the song right? Aren't they usually rebuilding the space during this song, and not dancing? I bet they barely had time to rehearse it.
Someone else mentioned that Kerry Butler does not normally sing this song in the show...I was wondering if that was the case, because it just seemed really low for her and out of place.
Also, did anyone else see the awkward dance move where Kerry and Cheyenne did the worm (is that what it's called?) together yet Cheyenne didn't finish his half of it and left Kerry hanging? I was cracking up!
Oh well, i still Love this show and thought they were still fun.
Have they ever done the title number in publicity performances? That just seems like it would be en easier to song include everyone in since everyone is in it anyway.
