YF Tour - is there precedent for 2 Tony winners on tour -

Just wondering which shows in recent memory have had this many cast members of a Bway show play their same role on tour?

And 2 Tony Winners - it seems like a great cast -

Well many of the Elphabas/Glindas flip-flop between Wicked on Broadway and the tour. Georgia Engel who played Mrs. Tottendale in the original cast of Drowsy Chaperone toured as Mrs. Tottendale. Kyle Riabko and Blake Bashoff, formerly of the Spring Awakening tour, also played their roles on Broadway. It is not that uncommon of an occurrence...

The YF tour isn't going to sell on the basis of having 2 Tony Award-winning actors.

Years ago, when the original CHICAGO toured, Chita Rivera and Jerry Orbach reprised their roles, as did Barney Frank.

Didn't Bernadette Peters and Joanna Gleason both tour together in INTO THE WOODS and both had a Tony?

As humorous as the original posting was -- I am now DETERMINED to find a recent tour which included in its cast three or more Tony winners...

The tour featured Cleo Laine and Betsy Joslyn as the Witch, and Mary Gordon Murray as The Baker's Wife.

To my knowledge, Peters hasn't toured a show since Gypsy in the 60s, and Gleason hasn't toured.

Unless you count the Washington Follies.

I assume the original poster meant character actor Barney Martin (Liza's dad in Arthur), who was the original Amos Hart.

Ashley Brown is touring in Mary Poppins along with Gavin Lee although she didn't win a Tony. Tommy Tune toured in My One and Only back in the 80's.

MR toured in QTOF after the Broadway run. FI did the Boston and Los Angeles stops of YFJMD and BF toured extensively in FDS and MDAK, recreating his original roles in each.
