Was passing by the Hilton tonight and decided to buy the souvenir program ($20) and noticed they were also selling the cast recording ($25). Today was apparently the first day they started selling it at the theater. I believe it is officially released in stores on the 26th. Just wanted to let you all know!
...and the souvenir program is great!

Posted: 12/12/07 at 8:31pmUGH! Thanks for driving me insane! :) I can barely wait for the 26th and now I know that it's at the box office, my compulsive nature and love of Sutton Foster will make me crazier.

Posted: 12/12/07 at 8:32pmThe 26th?! I thought it would be released on the 18th. This blows.

Buy it @ Virgin & save a bundle
Better still go to Amazon.com & pay about $ 13.

Posted: 12/12/07 at 8:39pm$25...blahh, I think I can wait another 2 weeks and get it at borders with an old gift card haha. Nevertheless I can't wait for the recording!

Posted: 12/12/07 at 8:41pmYeah, I agree that $25 was way too expensive...I'm buying my copy via amazon.

Is anyone willing to pick one up for me and send it to me?
It was an intended Christmas gift for a friend when I saw it was coming out the 18th, but since it comes out the 26th I opted not to.
Can someone do me the favor though?! I've got money in hand and am ready to send money. PM ME!!!

Posted: 12/12/07 at 10:11pm$25 is really steep for a single disc recording. I'll wait as well. Does anyone think that there might be a cd signing at Virgin or the B&N near Lincoln Center?

Posted: 12/12/07 at 10:32pmFrogs, I hope so! I'd pay $25 for it if I bought it at a signing. =] Otherwise I'm waiting to get it from Amazon.
I remember days
Or at least I try
But as years go by
They're sort of haze
And the bluest ink
Isn't really sky
And at times I think
I would gladly die
For a day of sky

Saw the show, enjoyed the spectacle immensely, but let's just say... I can wait for the cheaper amazon.com price.
I can't remember a single tune from the entire show.

Posted: 12/12/07 at 11:57pmIs the it worth it? I haven't really been all that gung-ho about the shows I've heard. I never bought The Producers Cast Recording because I didnt really care for Mel's music, and now this one seems to just have filler songs. I might just wait till I - hopefully - make it to NYC in March and judge for myself.

One of the only things I remember from that show musically is Megan Mullally holding out the word "TITS" twice for two long notes and cracking up.

Posted: 12/16/07 at 4:01amSo no one will answer the question. Is it worth it, or should I wait until I'm in NYC in March? Will it ruin the show for me if I know the score ahead of time? You all say it's bad, but then say you'll still buy it, so I'm not sure I get that.
