By the way, it wasn't a jew joke. It was me saying he was cheap, but it didn't come out right.

Oh, ok!
I'm half-and-half, but I'm still very sensitive when somebody makes a jew joke...
But yeah, Mel is quite cheap...

So has anybody seen any cameras coming in and out of the Hilton lately?
I'm quite eager to hear more about this...
It wouldn't surprise me if it was to be filmed and released.
As much as the guy annoys me and he has made some errors with the producing of YF he is a smart business man.The show has lost money yet a DVD of the show sold worldwide with his name attached to it would probably sell pretty well.
Rent, Passing Strange, Gypsy, Legally Blonde and (here in the UK) Bad Girls the Musical, its quite exciting
I just really hope that they do put the DVD of Young Frankenstein, but I wish that they could have taped the original cast.
Mel Brooks ringtones? Don't you mean Glen Kelly ringtones?

Is that suposed to mean he riped off Gene Kelly? If so, that's what he does. He even said so.
Mel Brooks is great at movies. He is a comedy god, IMO. The Producers was great because he wasn't expecting it to explode into what it did.
He got a little carried away with the show's succsess and decided to try and create a bigger succsess. If he sat back and did it like others, it would be doing good.
I still think he's a comedy god after a flop. Everyone has a flop at one point or another.
And back to the thread topic: Can somebody...ANYBODY who will be in the theatre district at least see if there's any action/people at the Hilton? Obviously, if there was no taping, passerbys would at least see the load-out. I'd stop and ask questions myself, but won't be back in the city for 10 more days. Please? I'm surprised there's been absolutely no public mention of this; kinda suspicious...
Those cones were set up so the trucks could park and the stage hands could load out the set.
They're just loading out. The show is over and done. No taping.

The original poster said that it went on to say that the signs said it was going to be taped as well. Is it possible they filmed it on 1 day and have been loading it out since then?

Mr. Brooks writes some very funny lyrics, especially those in The Producers. Glen Kelly, however, is his music ghostwriter. Indeed, not all composers are trained in music the way John Kander, Adam Guettel and Stephen Sondheim are (just a few examples), but even people like Jerry Herman write their own stuff with no assistance and little to no training in music. Hell, even if he only played in one key, Irving Berlin played the piano!
I have a feeling it was taped a while ago, if it comes out on DVD hopefully it'll be released in a couple months.
Mel Brooks has said that basically that "writing a song" for him means he hums something into a tape recorder and hands it off.

I hope it was taped with the original cast----I really enjoyed each cast member. Once Megan and Sutton left, it was not quite as good (altho' I loved Beth Leavel's Frau B!)(IMO anyway). I would definitely purchase a DVD with that original cast!
If they are indeed going to release this taping as a dvd, I think it's a wonderful idea. It would allow people who do not get a chance to come to Broadway to still enjoy seeing a show. I know there's nothing like seeing a show in person, but it's the next best thing. Better than some of those awful bootleg copies with heads in the way.

If it happened, someone would have mentioned it by now.
This is a test because my avatar is still broken.
And now I'm back. Thanks.
or maybe the hot ticket could show it in theaters
well maybe Brooks could have funded a taping of Gypsy!! that would have been nice
