In all fairness, I only saw the tour, but it was the worst 2 and abit hours i have EVER spent in a theatre, and if I wern't with a friend, I would have left by interval!

I'm not, cheapest seat is £35, and thats restricted view, people wont pay that for a restricted view seat!

As I said in the other thread (that I must have written as Princeton posted his) I went a month ago, and the theatre looked pretty much full. That was however a Saturday matinee, and I could hear many a Yankee twang amongst my fellow audience members. Maybe the show has been playing to dismal weekday crowds and has been banking on the weekend tourist trade - something which has now disappeared as holidays are over.
The show deserves a healthy run - its light hearted fun with an amazing cast (Emma Williams + Matt Rawle = my current fav stage couple) and a score full of hits. With a relatively low budget (£2.85 million is the given figure) and having taken £11 million at the B/O, I thought the show would've lasted for longer.

Totally agree Boyfromoz. Plus it brought Lesli Marguerite to the West End, we have much to thank it for. With it up for SO many awards, maybe a 'extended due to popular demand' may happen if it wins some.

I saw it on tour and quite liked it. I believe that it has improved a lot since then.
I do thing that rejoicing that 60 plus people are going to be out of work is not a nice thing.

TKTS is still not Student teritory for most though. Shows like La Cage, Avenue Q, Jersey Boys, Hairspray, Wicked all do £20/£25 student tickets. £30 is just that little bit too much.

Does Spring Awakening have a theatre by now for its possible West End transfer as mentioned here - https://www.broadwayworld.com/article/Spring_Awakening_Extends_Hammersmith_Run_20090209 ? Maybe the Garrick now for it as its Lyric Hammersmith is to end 14th March.

Ive never really commented on this show on here because i thought i would get shot lol, but i have to say i found it pretty average at best. The choreography, Cast and Lighting were great, some of the music is fun, but the book was naff.
Sad for the cast though and for the fact its yet another british musical to fail.
I also think that the producers (Or theatre) are idiots for closing this when its still getting award noms

I think ALNM is meant to be transferring here from Menier (but don't take it as gospel as I was rather drunk when I heard it on Friday and can't remember who told me but they did say Zorro was closing, so I guess that bit came true....)
