IS there any section that is better to sit in than another at Circle in the Square. I realize that since the show hasn't even begun previews, no answer can address Godspell, but I'm looking for traditionally what is played to.

When I use a discount code, the first tix offered to me are the 400 seats and then I get offered tix in the 100 seats. So far I'm not getting offered anything in the longer side sections.

I know that a well directed in-the-round production shouldn't really matter where my seats are, so I'm just looking for any words of advice you may have.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

The one time I was ever in that theatre was for ...SPELLING BEE, which obviously wasn't totally in the round, and I sat in one of the long side sections in the first row. My observation while I was there, though, was that no seat in that house could possibly be bad.

I would think it shouldn't matter, if the show utilizes that kind of stage well. But, when I did see The Miracle Worker, I was in the 100 section. It was fairly good for most of the show, but I missed the moment with the water and well because their backs were turned to my side. I mean, I knew what was going on, but it would have been nice to actually see Helen's reaction.

I usually see where premium seats are located, then try to sit as close to them as possible. Godspell premium seats are located in the lower 200 section.

I sat in the 400s section for THE MIRACLE WORKER and it was an awful experience. The actors spent most of the evening with their backs to that section. Also, the chairs in that section were a lot harder and more uncomfortable than in the 200/300 sections, where I sat for THE NORMAN CONQUESTS. In short, I'd avoid it if you can.

"You travel alone because other people are only there to remind you how much that hook hurts that we all bit down on. Wait for that one day we can bite free and get back out there in space where we belong, sail back over water, over skies, into space, the hook finally out of our mouths and we wander back out there in space spawning to other planets never to return hurrah to earth and we'll look back and can't even see these lives here anymore. Only the taste of blood to remind us we ever existed. The earth is small. We're gone. We're dead. We're safe." -John Guare, Landscape of the Body

Watching the rehearsal videos, they seem to be really be using the round rather well. I can't imagine that any seat in the theater is gonna be bad. I'll be in the 400s for the first preview, so I will be sure to report back on Thursday night

I opted for a seat in the 100s. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I saw "Lombardi" in that theatre. It was an awesome experience being in a front row seat. from RC in Austin, Texas

I lowered my voice and said 'Hotel detective. Have you got a gentleman in your room?' He answered, 'Just a minute, I'll ask him.'" (Beatrice Lillie)

From the reviews of the first preview, it sounds like the best seats would be on your sofa at home.

Miracle Worker was awful in that theater...you miss half the facial expressions...which are just a tiny bit key for that show.
