"And there is absolutely no reason to be rude to an actor who was just cast and is trying to get more information. Especially one who is obviously a young teenager."
What's the problem? I am not being rude. I asked him a question, which he answered, and I told him that he could buy the book or movie on Amazon. It is a small investment for being cast in the role on a tour. Is it not?
Even if he had many auditions and it didn't find time to research a role, now that he has been cast, he could take some initiative and buy the movie or the book. Or, I'm sure his local library has a copy of the book or movie since he is waiting for a copy of the script from the director. He said he had trouble finding information about it, and the best place to start is by actually reading the book.
