The current cast of The Producers were very nice(favorite stage door, there are no barricades set up). Also, the casts of SpamAlot, Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, All Shook Up, Avenue Q were all extremely nice.

I've never ever experienced anyone be mean, but these are just the ones that stick out in my mind as being really nice.
My stage door experience at Chitty was one of the best I've had. Everyone was so sweet. Erin Dilly talks to you like you're a friend not a fan. Jan Maxwell and Kevin Cahoon are really fun. And Raul Esparza is a wonderful, gracious, humble man.
The entire cast of The Light in the Piazza. Kelli was so gracious. Matt was adorable. I love Sarah Uriarte Berry. She's so sweet. Victoria was the best, and so aproachable. She just exudes joy and warmth.
The entire cast of Spelling Bee. Jesse fixed my camera!
And the original Altar Boyz cast was great. Scott actually said "Have you met Andy?" and got his attention and brought him over to me.
And Lorelai, I like your name and avatar!

i can't believe i almost forgot--
when i met Hugh Jackman at The Boy from Oz, he was an absolute doll. i told him how much i loved the movie Kate and Leopold, and he gave me a hug, even though he had three bodyguards with him. and when my mom asked if she could get a picture of him with me, the one bodyguard kind of shook his head and told him that he had to keep the line moving, so Hugh whispered to me, "give me something else to sign." i gave him my playbill (he had already signed my program) and while he signed it he posed for two pictures with me. < 3

Roger Bart would be tops on my list, but maybe I'm just biased...
But he took the time to listen to my fangirly gushing, sign my Playbill and pose for a photo. When the camera acted weird and didn't take the first time around, he actually told my friend to try it again which I thought was incredibly sweet.
Gary Beach is also a sweetie and was so kind to pose and sign for everyone, even though you could tell he was exhausted.
Greg Jbara, Norbert Leo Butz, Tom Galantich and Sherie Renee Scott were wonderful and although I never saw John Lithgow perform, I did see him at the stage door one night and he seemed very nice.
And the entire cast of Avenue Q. Even after matinees, when a lot of actors won't leave, they all came out and took the time to sign and pose for everyone waiting.
I don't believe I've ever had a bad experience at a stage door, and I'm so thankful I have had the chance to meet so many wonderful and talented stars.

I usually don't stage door.
But Tom Wopat was very charming to my mother after Glengarry. Kathleen Turner and Alicia Silverstone also were nice after The Graduate.

I just had a fabulous Sunday, as Kevin Cahoon and Andy Karl are two of the nicest guys you could ever meet. Andy could not be more down-to-earth and charming, and Kevin could not be more genuine, gracious, and kind.
Basically, you'll find that most actors are polite or sweet...I've only had a couple negative experiences over the years.

Thanks --I just think people assume that because much of Spelling Bee cast comes out lobby with audience that Dan doesn't come out and they misjudge him. He is usually one of the last of the ensemble out but I have never seen him not be gracious to people who are waiting for him at real stage door. Sometimes he even then comes around to the front and continues to hang out.
If you send a request to Circle in The Square, he will send you back an autograph as will the rest of the cast.

Ahhhhh Cabaret! AMAHZING user picture! Andy. owns. in that pic. Loooove it.
The entire cast of Altar Boyz is soo sweet ... Andy was soo funny, David made it a point to tell me he saw me in the audience .. and was very proud of himself, Daniel Torres(ex-understudy) was soo great, and he remembered things I had said in e-mails to him and got so excited. And Scott Porter was just adorable, he laughed because I had this SuperSharpie and it was crazy ginormous ... and they all commented on my shirt .. *C is for Crunk* ... it was amazing.

Megan Hilty is a very kind woman, she is very supportive, warm, and interested in you as a person. I've met her several times, so now when she sees me she has no problem just popping up and being all "Hey, what are you doing today?" I love her.
Jeff Goldblum and Michael S. were also very nice at the pillowman. Kevin Cahoon is a great guy. Marc is hysterical, good story though I don't wanna post it here, if you care PM me.
The only "not nice" person I've met have been Christine Ebersole, she was snappy and gave us really pissed off looks, hey we were only 2 ppl, the only ppl there she could ahve been friendly.
Also, Ginnifer King, Rebecca's standby in Magnolias, is a great woman and invited us ( c is for company) and I to Broadway Barks with the cast though we couldnt find her.

I just want to throw something out there since it seems that one person feels a certain actor is unapproachable and nasty while someone else claims that same actor is incredibly friendly.
There have been many occasions that I am personally aware of, that because many actors subscribe to the "SHOW MUST GO ON" school of thought, these actors have performed while they had stomach viruses, horrendous allergies or incubating the flu. They have left their last ounce of energy on that stage so as not to disappoint the people who have paid for tickets.---- They now desperately want to just go home----and there we are with the expectation that they owe us more of their time and energy.
I say--let's cut them a break--and not make disparaging sweeping comments condemning their character based on that one isolated encounter.----Appreciate that as many before me in other threads have said--They are human too---and cut them some slack....
greatdct

I've only been to two shows, so what can I know... but...
Everyone at Piazza was nice... Sarah really actually talked to us though... she was adorable. Kelli seemed freaked out that I was crying... lol Oh well, but she was just so gosh darn cute. Matt was obviously tired, but stayed for everyone and was charming and funny. Victoria let me talk at her... about nonsense and was very cool about it lol
Spelling Bee... oh my gosh, Celia's fantastic. She signed my stuff first, and while she was signing other stuff and taking pictures, she continued to talk to us, because my uncle used to do theater with her. Then... about 10 minutes later, she was talking to her other friends from the show, and my mom walked over there and started asking her about U of M... I was kinda embarresed, because I felt like we were intruding, but she was so gracious and kind and ready to help. Sarah looked really sick, but signed and took pictures and all. Jose Llana... is far too stuck on himself... lol Deborah Craig is a hoot... Ok, everyone but Jose at that show is amazing... hands down.

Posted: 9/1/05 at 6:10pmAvenue Q is great. They'll stand around and talk for thirty minutes sometimes. They'll talk to you about anything, they're so nice. Especially Steph and Barrett.

guh. Julia Murney is THE sweetest woman alive. She stayed to talk to my friends and I for like twenty minutes one night, about everything from iPods to flying witches and Hair to rush tickets. She made us all feel like old friends.
The Chitty cast is generally really sweet, but Raúl and Kevin take the cake. Kevin's so friendly, it's almost ridiculous. He's happy to stay and talk for a while, and plugs his band; it's adorable.
Cheyenne Jackson is about as sweet as his eyes are piercing. He's such a doll.
The OBC of Avenue Q hammed it up for the cameras like the pros that they are, and made me feel totally comfortable around them, which is NOT easy to do. They're incredibly humble, down-to-earth people.
Special mention for The Adam, just because.
Greg Jbara, as many, many people have said. He's just a genuinely nice guy - and in theatre or just in the real world, you don't find many people who are just so *genuinely* kind.
Michael Arden is as sweet as he is cute (and he's cuter than a whole FACTORY of buttons). He's such a pleasure.
And, gah. Anthony Rapp. There's nothing I can say that will do justice to how I feel about Anthony. Genuine, gracious, generous, grounded (that's a lot of G's!). He has, in many, many ways, thoroughly rocked my world.

GREG JBARA A MILLION TIMES OVER!! He really is the most genuinely nice people that you'll ever meet in your life. Not just on Broadway but just in general.
Jeff Goldblum is also really nice and spole to me for about 20 minutes.
Hugh Jackman is also a total sweetheart and took a picture with me and hugged me.
