Anyone seen or know anything about this current production? It's playing in Los Angeles in Thousand Oaks and I'm interested in seeing it. Thanks for any info!

If it is the same tour that I saw in Sarasota Fl. about 9 months ago, it is a piece of garbage. Not worth two hours out of your life.

I saw its previous iteration in Pittsburgh. The best thing I can say about that is that the actors were very...earnest. Also that deconstructing it gave us some entertainment over dinner. This may not be exactly the same version, but if it is, it's pretty awful.
Hands down the WORST thing that I have ever seen. Absolute trash.
I didn't see Flashdance, but I saw Dirty Dancing and there is no way it can be worse than that. That was the worst tour I have ever seen, and I got free tickets...
^ Oh, but Virginia, there is a Santa Claus. (By which I mean: no, you don't understand, Flashdance is truly awful.)

Thanks for the replies. Looks like I'll be skipping this one. I am however, stuck with seeing Dirty Dancing as those tickets are already purchased.

I saw both. In my opinion (and those of my companions for both shows) Flashdance was abysmal; Dirty Dancing was worse.
The songs I've heard from Flashdance I rather enjoy - simple pop songs. But yeah, I can't imagine it's reinventing the wheel. This however is a new production. Some new songs added, different design.
I thought Dirty Dancing was fine. If you like the movie the tour is basically just the movie on stage with projected scenery. Granted, they might as well have just projected the movie, but I didn't think it was that bad.
