It is rap...and it's sad that Bernie outraps Vanessa.

That's one of my favorite parts of the show.

Elphaba... you are a large reason of why Wicked fans get a bad name. Closing your mind to anything other the Swartz is just sad. There is a vast world beyond Wicked that I think you need to explore. A good start would be Broadway Lost Treasures. Or just go to the library, close your eyes and pick a recording you have never heard before. You'll be amazed at what Broadway has to offer.

Uhm, yeah. Ever herd of Afrika Bambaataa, Run DMC, Grandmaster Flash & the Furious Five, Ice T and Public Enemy.

I don't which one is more amusing, the parody or people's reaction to the parody.

You are soooooo right, omg. Into the Woods is so stupid. Like, fairytales? Come on. Didn't we outgrow fairytales when we were like 8? Pssssh. No fairy tales for me. Only silly stupid girly girls like fairy tales. I'm not a girly girl. I'm hardcore, DEFYING GRAVITY! YOU CAN'T BRING ME DOWN! BI-ATCH!

And, liek, I totally understand getting Stephen Sondheim and Stephen Schwartz confused. omg why the crap do they have to have like nearly the same names?!! Like nearly the same thing happened to me a few weeks ago, I borrowed this musical called.... uhmmmm.... I think it was ASSASSINS, or something, from the library, and I was all listening to it and thinking 'what the crap, why isn't anyone getting a makeover?' LOL.

elphaba610, you are an embarrasment to Oz. RENT THE F-ING video of Into the Woods, then you'll know what's going on.

please go back to your Wicked CD......if you consider that serious, you have bigger issues

I'm huge Wicked fan, but I know it's nto the best thing out there. It's my favorite show though.

ITW is amzing, it's beautiful. It's a masterpiece. If you can't appreciate a msuical besides Wicked, then get out of musical theatre, very few shows are like wicked.

Ok Seriously...all you people who are making fun of me really need to GET A LIFE!!! Don't you have anything better to do. Im trying to express my opinion about a CD and I get attacked? Why??? Cause I said I didnt like a CD? Some of you people have been very nice and giving me suggestions such as renting the movie or re-listen to the cd(which I Will). Just answer me this question honestly. Why is everyone being so mean to me? I just want to know why? I wasnt mean to any of you. I come on to have a conversation. Thats all. I never insulted anyone first. Please just treat me with some respect. Thats all I ask.

Well, me personally? I was bored.

And still bitter about those 85 bazillion Wicked threads you started a few days ago.

Aaand... what you said was utterly ridiculous.

The only reason they're being rude to you is because you are being totally and completely closed-minded! You refuse to accept mature, sophisticated musicals such as "Into the Woods" for what they are. You somehow think that "Wicked" (the most highly successful piece of drivel I've ever seen performed on stage) is the epitome of all musicals, and that, dear, is just wrong! You wanna listen to babyish OBCRs, continue with "Wicked." But when you're ready to grow up (if that ever ends up happening at all, that is), try the "Rent" or "Light in the Piazza" OBCRs. But until then, save your childish views for this board: http://boards.zeeks.com/categories.php. Get it, babycakes? @@

re: elphaba610 reviews Into the Woods CD

because you obviously know little to nothing about musical theater.

Because you speak an opinion when it is apparent that you have no idea what the show is about, when it is incredibly apparent that you did not hear the words being sung, and have never seen the show

because you are utterly ridiculous, and I am assuming are maybe, at most 14yrs old?

Now, there are many teenage posters here whose opinions I do value. You could learn from them

and here...call someone who cares

The problem is a lot of us like Wicked, I have seen it in both NYC and Chicago. However, when that’s all people talk about it get boring around here, and we like to spice things up and talk about everything. Unfortunately, Wicked has been talked about, and talked about, and talked about. You might be to young to for this to have affected you, but do you remember when Titanic (The movie) came, every teenage girl was obsessed with it, and it was the best movie ever hands down, no fighting it. Looking back on it years later we all realize that those people say it was overrated were right. Sure a lot of us enjoy Wicked, but we would just rather talk about art. As far as people being mean to you, they just don’t have southern hospitality like me :).

P.S.
My advice on things to listen/See.

Pippin
Little Shop of Horrors

I am not being closed minded. I listened to the CD and I didnt like it! Thats my opinion and your opinion is not better than mine. And even if I was being closed minded(which im not cause i plan on listening to it again) that gives nobody in here justification for bashing me. You may not have liked what I said about Into the Woods, but why can't you just respect my opinion of it? How about instead of "Elphaba...you ignorant stupid girl, you have no taste in musicals..you know nothing of what good musicals are all about" try "I dont agree with your opinion of Into the Woods, but thats your opinion and I respect it". As I have said in previous posts, I am just getting into Broadway and I am trying to broaden my horizons. A lot of you people owe me an apology. Its hard to have a conversation about the CD when all I get are nasty people. I mean seriously...GET A LIFE!

Well, I do understand what you mean. I know Wicked is not the greatest thing in the world, and I am a fan, but I kow there were things better than it.

I rented the ITW DVD last week, and I loved the book, but was a little unsure about the music. I watched it again, and I loved it (especially the rap). So give it another try, and if you don't like it, then well you don't like it. Just get out there and give new musicals a cahnce (Rent for instance, is very good, and as someone mentioned, Idina did have a supporting role, in it, and she'll be in the movie).

I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

Leave her the f**k alone!!! Geez! She just has her opinion like the rest of us. Let her see the dvd and then ask what she thinks. Like me, maybe she doesn't get the whole thing until she sees the action onstage. That's what happened to me with Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Didn't really like the cd then saw it and now think it is amazing. Maybe the same thing will happen for Light in the Piazza. Cause I heard it and hate it. but maybe I have to see it.

But let her have an opinion. All you guys think that you are right and everyone has to agree with you. But that's not the case.

And I'm not talking about all of you. Some of you people are being nice and recommending to see the dvd or listen to the cd again. But most of you are attacking her.

So what if she likes Wicked? There must be a show out there that you like that some people may think is silly, like Once Upon a Mattress or Lil Abner or something.

And actually, though parts of Wicked are silly, I must admit, there is a powerful point behind it and the last song, For Good, is so powerful and one reason why it is on my top 5 list, above Into the woods. Because I have gone through times where the songs are revelant to me. Maybe later on in life, ITW will have more revelence to me and it will move up.

In short, don't get pissed off at 610 and open YOUR minds and look at Wicked again. Did you just hear it once and push it aside, thinking that it was stupid? If you didn't and you still hate it, that's your opinion. I'm not critizing you.

How sad. I'm twelve years old (I'm sorry if I say that too much, everyone!), and this girl is probably a little bit older than me. Shame, shame. Even I can appreciate Into the Woods. But, hey. That's how it is sometimes. Wicked, Wicked, Wicked.

OH GOD!

Sometimes people have oppinions, but when it borderlines on that, then I almost lose respect. I mean, come on you can not call it childish especially when you have no idea about the show as a whole, it's themes, and how the witch's rap is used for comedic purposes.

people need to be enlighted.

Please say someone is ****ting me. . . Where's Priest and the Govenor when Sondheim needs some defense?

Honestly, if all you can get out of Broadway are songs with blatantly obvious themes and showy presentation with little musical or character depth than I actually feel sorry for you. You are really missing out on a completely mind blowing realm of musical theatre. Sondheim gives depth to characters who are generally presented as one dimensional. His lyrics are inspirational. Take another listen to "Children Will Listen" with an open mind. If you can't find something in this musical that you can really feel for, then I think its time for you to head on over to the other side of the music store and find something thats easier for you to follow. . . like Britney Spears.

Such an objective review, elphaba610 (Note the sarcasm). It is close-minded, obsessive, teeny-bopper morons like you that have turned me off to Wicked. Please don't ever call yourself a Broadway fan. You are a Wicked fan and need to go post your bull sh*t on one of the million other Wicked fanboards. I am sure you can meet other closed-minded, screaming, immature, tasteless, uneducated fangirls just like you.

Note: I am speaking only to Elphaba610 - not Wicked fans in general.

And though you call 610 uneducated, i think you are uneducated if you can't have respect for someone's opinion.

and like she said, she IS going to listen and watch it, so she is not close minded if she's WILLING to do that.

Oh my god! Someone doesn't like Into the Woods? Scandal! Stone her, she's a witch!

Some of you need to accept that she just doesn't like Into the Woods?. Yes, she's not mature enough to fully appreciate most aspects of it, but she's entitled to her opinion.

And my dear, dear elphaba610 - I can't speak for everyone else, but it's not you I hate, it's just your opinion. And even though I severly disagree with you, I'm just going to accept it and move on, since I obviously can't change your mind.

Did I really see someone say Willams was better than peters!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I almost **** my pants! Peters is a god! Ahhh, this show is dear to me since I played the witch senior year of highschool. I can not take any insult about OBC, my ears can not tolerate ignorance.

on the topic of Wicked, I like Wicked, but INto the Woods and Wicked are so diffrent you can not compare the two. Wicked isn't what makes Broadway...some people need to broaden their musical horizons.
