is it about time for another rocky horror revival?

I ask because the last one was all the way back in 2001, and with all the renewed interest (glee, apparently a remake of the film) im surprised someone hasnt gone hmmm lets try this again.....

they didn't remake the film, they did a ridiculous version of it.

There are many sbows that have gone LONGER than a 10 year hiatus...and truly, I think that's the least amount of time it should wait before re starting. Make people want it before it comes back.

(I love the film, have never seen it performed live -- and the film is so iconic, I'm not sure I ever want to!)

I think this show should return for just a few months around Halloween time. Shows like White Christmas & Elf only play Thanksgiving-New Years. I think a Rocky revival, if it were to return, should play September - Thanksgiving only.

ROCKY HORROR should be a permanent fixture on Broadway. There should be a theater devoted to it and ONLY it that I can go to every single night.

dramamama611 its is so much better live. It's great when you get really creative actors who can work back and forth with the audience.

It's the first show next season at the Old Globe in San Diego of which 6 of their shows at the two theatres are musicals. Could this be a testing ground for a return to Broadway since many musicals have been presented there before heading to Broadway?

The TBA show is most likely a musical too and a dark one with Lea Salonga. It's "Allegiance" about the WWII Japanese internment camps.

^ thats also what made me bring this up, if old globe is doing a revival something has to be going on, and i spaced that wrong what i ment to say was they did the glee episode & apparently fox was atleast last year talking about remaking it...

Could be but maybe not since this production is being directed by Oanh Nguyen, the Artistic Director of Southern California’s award-winning Chance Theater in Anaheim Hills. He is renowned for his distinctive interpretations of contemporary musicals (Evita, The Secret Garden and Tommy which transferred to OCPAC) this past year. Looks like this is his big break to do a musical on a bigger scale and in a bigger venue. Hopefully it will be good like the others and maybe give him a chance to move it elsewhere which I know he'd like to do.
