is there an excess of Harry Potter tickets?

I purchased 3 tickets for 4/21 and then realized the date was bad, and went to see the show in November. I've had these tickets listed on vividseats and stub hub for months, but now I see similar seats selling for under $100, when I paid over $350. So I was trying to sell them at face value - how are they selling so cheaply? am I going to have to sell these for 1/3 the price I paid? I listed them on the buy/sell board here for $325, less than I paid, but any advice is welcome

I'm not sure it is to retain high prices. If anything, it seems like creating a volatile ticket market deters scalpers from scooping up all of their inventory, and lets them sell more tickets direct to the people who will see the show.

I suspect that people are still assuming it is impossible get tickets, so they don't try. I was one of them until I tried to purchase tickets last week for October (tix not on sale yet). I looked at two other dates in July (special trip) as possibilities, and was positively shocked to see how many tickets were available.

Also, if you are not obsessed with HP (which I imagine a lot of Year 1 attendees were), it is a very expensive day in the theatre since you need to purchase 2 tickets...I imagine that will discourage families who are periodic theatergoers, but for which a single show is still a once-or-twice a year splurge.

Probably just releasing more tickets for existing dates?

If that was the point of the email, it would've been helpful if they'd indicated that the tickets going on sale were specifically for those months.
