did anyone see her, what was she like? i would have loved to have seen her and eden at the same time. how often did that happen.
kisses
We saw her when she was standing in for Kisten who was doing CANDIDE and thought she was very disappointing vocally. We met her in a restaurant afterwards and she told us she was taking over when K.C. left however this didn't happen (don't know why but I suspect she wasn't good enough!).

I didn't personally see her, but a number of my friends did and they all said that she was terrible. She doesn't have the range for that role, which is probably why JLT ended up replacing Kristin.
Laura didn't take over because of contract issues.

She was OK. I originally was supposed to see wicked may 7 2004, the day before my birthday but my friend warned me about kristins absence from candide and I immediately switched days to june 12,th of the same year. HOWEVER, kristin got sick halfway through and when I heard the announcement during intermission I almost cried right there I was so pissed, I totally was miserable throguh thank goodness cause I wanted to hear her so badly during it, the rest I would have been fine with. So anyway, laura tried copying kristin and wasnt as funny, it didnt work for her. She sounded amazing at the end of thank goodness, sticking to what kristin sang and her voice was very full, not operatic like K.C.. However I preferred kristin to her and at part liked her better than jen
Laura Bell Bundy wanted too much money, and had already alienated the producers by violating her contract by taking an unannounced trip to Los Angeles. As luck would have it, while away, she was called to go on as a standby and wasn't available.

Guys, she didnt take over for KC because she is filming a movie in florida and she will be doing tarzan 2006.
Haha, I love all the mixed reasons.
Seeing as how Laura left the company of WICKED well over a year ago, I think its safe to say her current involvement with Tarzan was not a relevant conflict...

ummm back to the question that was originally asked, i saw laura bell as glinda and very much enjoyed her take on the character. sadly i never saw kristen because both times i saw it while she was still under contract, she was out.
as for why she didnt take over the role, im sure theres a million and one rumors as well as the producer's take on it and her take on it-- and well, the truth has been lost somewhere.
Well, I don't know what was going on behind the scenes, but she stated in an interview that she wanted to continue in Wicked, but her agents and the Wicked producers couldn't work out the details. It sounds like $$ to me, but you never know.

It is though, Michael bennett. Cause she did the Tarzan workshop. She told me so herself (I have their e-mail address, hehe)

sassy, im not going to tell you that youre wrong cuz i dont have any personal info to share to the contrary and i certainly think youre entitled to believe that- but doing a workshop doesnt guarantee doing the role and i dont see how a show in 2006 wouldve interfered with a contract last year. of course deciding to do a movie over continuing with a stage show is entirely possible but do we even know if that movie was on her plate when they offered her the role?
does anyone truly know?
She is my LEAST favorite Glinda..
She said in an interview that the reason she didnt take over was for "contract issues" and that they wanted to pay her less than what shes was making as a stand-by, so anything other than that I'd guess are rumors..
I saw her twice and thought she was fantastic.
