I notice many broadway performers leave the theater with their stage make up still on. I was wondering if anyone has ever seen an Elphaba actress leave before taking her green off?

I've rarely seen people wear stage makeup any longer than they have to - horrible for your skin, even with moisturizer underneath. As in Max Factor pore blocker #25.

Makeup is not horrible for your skin. The problem arises when the makeup is not removed properly- this cuases the clogging and breakouts. You can't use "soap" Good skin care and cleanser that is appropriate for your skin type will be fine.

Somewhere (I believe on her fan pictures page on her website) is a random picture of Stephanie J. Block still in green. It may have been between shows or something, I don't know for sure, but I have seen it. And I've seen may performers leave the show still wearing their stage make up. It can be removed at home the same way it can at the theatre and depending on the show, it make look natural. Believe me, I know how bad it is for the skin. My skin is so sensitive. I'm dreading my advanced make-up class simply because of how horrid I look all semester due to break outs. But, yes, the point of the thread, I've seen many actors leave the theatre with their make up on and Stephanie came out or at least took a picture once in full green early in her Wicked touring days. Cheers!

For all the obvious reasons, I don't think any actress who has played Elphaba has ever left the theatre with her green make-up still on. From stuff I've read, most have commented on how great that post-performance hot shower is, plus it gets on everything.

Maybe an Elphaba has to grab her take out from the delivery guy, but alas, if you are Elphaba leaving the green on is pointless. In act 1, elphaba is a light green with less contouring on her cheeks and eyes. During intermission, she is made a tid darker and sexier after she is known to Oz as "wicked"

On two show days, the make up has to be completely removed, and whoever the green gal may be has to completely redo the application with the make up artist.

Celtic - that pic is still up on her fan page LOL

That was after a two show day in L.A., right before the tour left for San Francisco... she totally came out still green (wig cap and all) and still stopped to sign and take pictures. One of the many reasons I love her.

The green does not get "on everything". There's a reason they use setting powder, it's so it doesn't rub off. Is Fiyero green-faced after they maul each other during ALAYM? Nope! Mac make-up sets up amazingly. I wish we used more of it in my class.

Popular - Aw! I <3 Steph for actually leaving the theatre green ... only Steph!

I have seen many actresses leave the Hairspray stagedoor with their stage lashes on, particularly Diana DeGarmo.

Celticblockhead-

I believe BrodyFosse meant that it gets all over everything in the removal process, not during the show. If you've ever seen videos or pictures of the dressing room each Elphaba uses, the shower is spotted all over with green marks. It may well be that it doesn't come off during the show, but when it is being removed I'm sure it can be quite a mess...

The theatre I perform at here in San Diego is in a mall and I've had two show days where I left the theatre to grab lunch still in make-up. It's usually pretty natural looking as I only wear mineral make-up, but during Les Miz I would go out sometimes with the dirt smudges still on and people would stop me and ask if I was okay.

to the comment about elphabas: i saw julia murney during her first week on broadway & i think she was having trouble getting her make-up off or something so she still has some green on if u look at the pic below. around her eyes its kinda a little tint. & just make up in general: diana degamo in this pic is a great example, though she had another show. but, still she is wearing penny make up she wears at the end only.

Scroll down a little and you will see the picture of Stephanie in full green makeup taking a picture.

Well, I wouldn't be surprised if a handful of actors and actresses left the theater made up if their stage makeup is "natural". Like, I'm pretty sure Adam Pascal was still wearing his stage makeup one of the times I was at that crazy ass Rent stage door. Foundation. Probably mascara and eyebrow shadowing as well.

What do I know. Maybe he's born with it.

I hope there are MAC smears on his Iron Maiden shirt.

Stephanie J. Block came out green on Halloween on tour when she was doing it.

When I saw A Chorus Line - Val still had make up on when she came out at the stage door.
