Posted: 8/5/13 at 8:19pmI have seen hundreds of shows in the last 31 years, this show is on my list as one of the WORST shows Broadway has ever put out. Im sorry to have killed your buzz, but after you see it you want to never see a show again, seriously, go see something good, Kinky or maybe Motown, and please don't bring kids to Matilda they just wont get it, movie or not Sorry Charlie

Posted: 8/5/13 at 8:31pmI was curious about this one. I loved the book and the movie as a kid, but I couldn't really envision it carrying off well on stage.

Broadway should have done a better job putting out this show.

Posted: 8/5/13 at 9:55pmThanks? for sharing your opinion, but please remember that it is your opinion. For my opinion, and yes, I recognize that it is my opinion, I thought it was one of the best shows I've ever seen. It was clever and had a wonderful story of someone inspiring others to stand up for themselves while finding people who cared for her at the same time. The performances were wonderful and the writing was very clever.

Posted: 8/5/13 at 9:57pmEvery time someone claims a show like this is the worst they've ever seen, I assume they don't see much theatre or they're really, really lucky if a show with a Tony nomination for Best Musical is the absolute "worst".

Posted: 8/6/13 at 12:20amI didn't like it in London or here. But the worst show ever....Na I reserve that for The Shaggs or Tale of Two Cities.

Posted: 8/6/13 at 1:26amIt wasn't my favorite show either but worst show..NO way. Overrated perhaps.. but I know a lot of people really enjoyed it. Not every show is for everyone.

Posted: 8/6/13 at 3:14amGood lord, in the 200-plus years Broadway has been operating Matilda is one of the worst things it's produced? I'm glad I've been informed so I can disregard all the fun I had at it. What a rube I was!

Posted: 8/6/13 at 3:19amno no no no no no no no no no no I could not disagree with this review more. MATILDA should have won the tony it is a perfect musical with perfect songs and perfect everything. It is critical of England and the World. I say Miss T represents Bureaucracy. I loved the ideas of the musical. I am shocked people do not get this great and stunning musical

^ I just can't.
I 'liked' the show but never thought it was amazing....but no new musical was this season. But the WORST? Not even close. If this is the worst you have ever seen, I suggest you are lucky indeed.

worst? really?
Walk 2 blocks south and sit in the Foxwoods for 2 hours and 45 minutes of Spiderman. Then tell me Matilda is the worst.
and Motown--seriously??

Posted: 8/6/13 at 1:20pmCome on you, people. Can't you tell when a poster is just having fun with you? He could have almost gotten away with it but using Motown as an example was the REAL giveaway!

Motown was one of the worst wastes of talent I have seen. BG should have let them change the book.
ps LOUD does not equal GOOD. and the Jackson 5 numbers are the best in the show.

Posted: 8/18/13 at 11:17pmI can't figure out if this thread is being sarcastic or not- because I can't imagine someone not loving this show. Best show I've ever seen on broadway- out of 34- and I'm 16.
