Everyone tells me I sound a lot similar to her. That's quite a compliment i think... she was amazing when i saw Wicked.
I saw Michelle at the stage door twice, and what struck me about her the most was her pointed effort to connect with each person she signed for. As she took the playbill from each person, she looked them directly in the eye and said hello with a small smile. It wasn't chit-chatty or overly friendly, but just downright polite. I was very impressed with that.

I haven't met her at the stage door, or anything, but her voiceis great. I get chills every single time from The Wicked Witch of teh East.
Michell Federer's performance was one of the highlights of Wicked for me. Touching and intricate.
shes pretty cool... though (not to be a critic because shes awesome) in Dancing Through Life she was a bit airy in the OBC recording.

a family friend lives right below her in brooklyn (the actual borough, NOT the musical )! when i found out, i was ecstatic!
Michelle and especially Carole are definitely underrated.
yeah I def. think Michelle has a beautiful voice!!
and heres another reason why I like Wicked, the actors with the small parts still managed to show their talents so well! i mean maybe thats just the actors and not the show or w/e but yeah

Michelle is so amazing, I like her voice WAY more than Kristin's. That would be awesome to see her onstage as Elphaba, i bet she would be great in No Good Deed and Defying Gravity.
i liked her :)
And she's kind acute so thats always a plus,

I occasionally see her on the street, and to be honest, she looks rather snobby (but so do I, from what I hear tell). Of all the performers I have seen on the street, only she and Barrett Foa look absolutely pretentious and unapproachable. I don't know if they actually are approachable, because I find all that rather tacky, and as I said I also look rather pretentious walking down the street. As the cliche says, never judge a book by its cover (I hear Barret is approachable, Michelle seems mixed).
well, having worked with her in the past, I'd say she's actually quite approachable. She is really more shy, but sometimes that can be mistaken for aloof. Just walk up to her on the street - I'm sure she'd enjoy the accolades.
i enjoyed michelle very much in wicked, but i'd like to hear her sing more, for obviously the role of nessarose doesn't have a huge range nor does it have very much singing at all. she's certainly not my favorite, but i think she's great.
i think some people (me included) are losing respect for michelle because she's stayed with wicked for so long. i mean, there's nothing wrong with staying with a show for a long time because you like it, but its been like 3 years. it kind of seems like she's just staying with wicked because she doesn't think she'll get a job afterwards. i dunno... that may just be my opinion. don't get me wrong though, i think she's wonderful, i just think she should expand her horizons.
idina on letterman and a ton of other awesome idina things can be found on idinamenzel.net
How could you possibly lose respect for someone who STAYS with a successful show, and is performing in her first Broadway stint? If it were my first Broadway show and it was a healthy run and a great money maker for a sometimes out of work actor, I'd be hard pressed to leave it after taking so long to get there in the first place. Unless the other offers were simply pouring in, but that's not a very realistic picture.
I luv her.She does need to me notice. She has been on Wicked longer than all the cast.
sorry... its just a weird opionion i have. i just would love for her to expand her horizons, and i think she's great.
I love her voice..but I want her to move on to something else so Megan McGinnis can take her place.
I dont like her vocals on Dancing Through Life, it sounds like she has snot in her nose, but i haven't herad her Witched Witch of the East, which im sure is amazing.

Michelle has not been in Wicked for 3 years, infact it will be 2 years 10/30/05, why would you lose respect 4 her because she stayed so long? Michelle is my 2nd fav actress (after Idina)
By the way, how do you put a picture above your username (i the only one who dosn't have a picture
yes, i know the opening date of wicked. although, i'm sure she was with the project long before october 30, 2003. i mean no disrespect to michelle... (losing respect may have been the wrong words) i just really think she needs to move on to new things, build on her resume, and let someone else into the role. i'm not saying everyone else should feel this way too, its just my opionion.
forget regret, why does that make you lose respect for people? Hell, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. I think that's why Steph D'Abruzzo and other cast members have stayed with Avenue Q so long.

i understand how stephanie has stayed so long in avenue q. she has an amazing role! kate monster is a great part, as opposed to nessarose which is quite a small and not very exciting role. don't get me wrong, i would love to play nessarose anywhere! i just think anyone would get bored with that role after 2 years on broadway.
EDIT*** o, and i hear she may be leaving in early january with shoshana... don't hold me to that though
