Posted: 5/15/08 at 10:39amI am listening to it right now. I missed it in NYC and could kick myself for not seeing it when it was here in Denver.

Posted: 5/15/08 at 11:04amIt was nearly a decade between Floyd Collins and Piazza, with a little Saturn Returns in between. I wouldn't hold your breath for a quick follow-up, especially given the trouble Princess Bride caused him.

I was surfing the summer theater schedules for Long Island, and saw The Light in the Piazza on the schedule for the Smithtown Performing Arts Center in June and July.
And Grey Gardens follows in August and September!

Missing it everyday is right.
I'm just thankful that we have the PBS broadcast and also that I got to see the tour.

Posted: 5/15/08 at 12:45pmAfter seeing it on Broadway I was afraid I'd be disappointed by the tour cast. Nope--the cast was top-notch and the material speaks for itself. I would give anything to go back to either of those evenings. It was truly one of the most beautiful musicals on Broadway in a long, long time.

Posted: 5/15/08 at 1:23pmI know!! One of my favorite shows!! I just saw Adam Guettel in concert on Tuesday and it was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. What an amazingly talented man and he is very humbled. He was so nice to everybody and I got to meet him and get an autograph and picture. One of the best experiences of my life. I'm so glad I got to see him. He said he's hoping to have another cd out sometime soon.

Posted: 5/15/08 at 2:52pmAfter watching the PBS broadcast and then seeing the tour 2x, I didn't really appreciate it until I started listening to the CD. Now, I wish I had appreciated it more when the show was still around as now it is one of my favorite shows.

Yeah, Mr. Guettel came to my English class last month and he was so nice and had a lot of great things to say. He was talking about having a few things in the works so lets hope that's true!
I think I have to go listen to Light in the Piazza now...

I'm still unbelievably upset that Guettel and Goldman fell out. I can't think of any project so tantalisingly wondrous sounding as a 'Princess Bride' musical by this team. We need a sickeningly cute kid to bring them together again. Always works in the movies. Who's with me?
Perhaps they'll bring Piazza to the UK, then I can miss it nearly as much as you guys... ^_^

I was lucky enough to see this great show, and I wasn't missing it, until I read this thread! All these comments are reminding me what a great show this is.
I think I'll go put it in the cd player.

Posted: 5/15/08 at 10:03pmThere's a regional premiere coming to Texas either late this year or early next year (I think it's next year but I'm not positive). I'm going to try out for it but if I don't get it, I'm definitely going to go see it. It's so wonderful and the company that's doing it always does great productions.

alfgiotir, you can't buy the broadcast legally, but you can probably find video clips of it online (maybe even the full show) at websites that I cannot mention here.

Posted: 5/16/08 at 12:09amLately, when I put my Ipod on shuffle its been playing a lot from Piazza and it still takes my breath away. I miss it SO much but I am SO thankful for seeing it on Broadway and on tour. I really hope Mr.Guettel know the impact the show had on some of us.
