Going in the opposite direction of the "musicals only you seem to dislike thread," which shows do you love that no one else really likes?
For me, it's Pippin. My whole family and all my theater friends hate Pippin, but I absolutely adore the show. I've seen it twice, and fell in love with the original cast recording.
"No two shows are alike in the making. Each show is a living
piece of your life in a small unreal world with its own character
and integrity; its own new set of memorable experiences and
incredible happenings. You begin to love and adapt to its strangeness.
Dreams harden into substance. Values come into focus. You wish
it would never end. The dream world vanishes like mist before a
rising sun; part of you vanishes with it. And back you land in the
real world with a thud- fogged, uneasy, jittery, difficult to get
along with. There is only one cure. A new show. A new, small
unreal world; new visions, experiences, incredible happenings.
Again you love it, adapt to it, wish it would never end.
But end it does. Another part of you vanishes.
That's show business."-Anonymous
Not on this board, but in my "real life" I don't get a lot of agreement for my love of Jesus Christ SuperStar, and I think it's because my friends are snobs when it comes to AW.
Seussical The Boy From Oz. I saw it with my dad and a good friend of mine. They both loved Hugh, but thought the show was only okay, but I liked the show.
My avatar = A screencap from Avatar, arguably the greatest animated show of all

"For me, THEATRE is an anticipation, an artistic rush, an emotional banquet, a jubilant appreciation, and an exit hopeful of clearer thought and better worlds."

"I could have sworn there was another thread just like this a week or two ago... but I can't find it, so i'll go again!"
