They all came out Friday night (including Scott Ellis and Theresa Rebeck) and were very nice. There isn't a stagedoor, just wait outside the lobby and you'll catch everyone.

Not that a five-minute encounter is really that telling, but Justin Kirk was laidback and fun, just like you'd imagine he'd be from seeing his work in Weeds or in this play. Absolutely, stop by and meet these folks...it may be that later in the run, this'll lose its novelty and they'll hang out less, but right now, they seem to be enjoying themselves and appreciative of the enthusiasm of audience members. The stage door at Pels feels a lot like post-performance at the Atlantic or Public Theater, off-Broadway is just a lot more relaxed.
Seeing it Thursday night, second row. Can't wait to stare at Mark-Paul. And once I get bored with that, it seems he's in a well-received show to enjoy.
Thanks, I'm looking forward to meeting him! How did you all get your tickets for this? I'm trying to decide whether to do Hiptix or rush or what. I'm not sure what's best if I want to go this week.

I did the $10 Roundabout preview deal and discovered that the mezz seats at the Pels are way better than the back of the orchestra, at least in my opinion!

I was in the very back row of the mezzanine (it only has 3 rows), off to the side and the view was just fine. Wouldn't mind sitting there again in the future. I haven't been to the back Orchestra so I'm not sure how those compare.
I loved it! It's not exactly deep, but at the same time, it manages not to feel trite, and it's extremely enjoyable and really well written. As someone who knows, loves, and works with actors, I was consumed with laughter for much of the play. Loved all of the performances, had a great time, and would definitely like to see it again.
I got to meet Justin, and practically melted on the spot. What a sweet guy. I'm not really good at that sort of thing, but he's very approachable. For anyone who's going in the future, they've moved the stage door fanfare outside from the lobby, so bundle up!
Thoroughly enjoyable - terrific acting by all three, impressive production values. No, not a "great play", but very satisfying. And yes, Mark-Paul looks terrific!!!
I really really want to see it again, and soon! I worry that it might not be as funny the second time once the jokes aren't new and don't want to taint the experience, but it was just so much fun!
Does anyone know if there are plans for the script to be published?
With the lousy weather this weekend, I stayed in and finally watched "Weeds" thanks to Netflix, only to happily discover that Uncle Andy is my new spiritual messiah. So now I'm feelin' that Justin Kirk isn't getting enough love in this thread here people!
Can't wait to see this play again, who knew it'd be the highlight of the year for me ...
I am watching my DVD's right now! I need more Justin in my life. He's always been one of my favorites, but I'm finding myself ridden with new degrees of being smitten after finally seeing him on stage. This is not good. :)
luvtheEmcee, all of Theresa Rebeck's plays are published by Samuel French, so I'm sure it'll be out some time next year.
Cool, thanks.
luvtheEmcee, being smitten isn't a problem. It's completely understandable. Just don't write down your phone number on a piece of paper and throw it on stage during bows. But if you do, totally tell us how it goes, thanks!
Uh oh, you mean that was a bad idea?
I'm seeing the show on the 7th of next month and really looking forward to it, I absolutely adore Mark-Paul, loved him in SBTB and NYPD Blue! I met him in 1994, he was shy, but sweet at the same time if that makes sense :) I hope to meet him again :)
Thanks for the reviews :)
Had a very entertaining night at the theatre too! The entire threesome is excellent. Way to go to MPG for a superb NYC stage debut!
Was VERY lucky to grab Scott Ellis (director) and Theresa Rebeck (playwright) after the show... as well as the cast.
Funny: There was a woman named Julie White at the stagedoor (who showed her Drivers License to our Tony-winner to prove it)
I took in the show again this past raining, misting, pouring, disgusting Saturday night and was pleased to see how well it's coming along. Lots of fun, will probably be going along with several Hiptix aged friends in the future. I missed my invited dress front row seat though; I really feel that Uncle Andy and I had a real "moment" when he pointed a gun in my face. Stop me please, I sound like one of those N2N fangirls!
Hey everyone, I'm seeing it this Saturday evening, from what I heard from a friend of mine its hilarious. I'm really looking forward to seeing it. Quick stage door question, sorry to ask again, but do they all still come out after the show, at the door, or lobby?
Thank you very much.
You have to go upstairs and wait outside the front entrance, not in the lobby. If you get confused, just ask one of the ushers; they're very helpful and they'll point you in the right direction! Have fun. :)
I must go see this again.
Great thanks a bunch
Help! Justin and Mark-Paul are doing an interview tomorrow... is anybody going to be around at 5:00-5:30 EST that could potentially record this and then share the love?

You will be my hero.
ETA - nevermind, I'm really slow. I didn't realize this was on t.v. For some reason I assumed it was a web show or something that needed to be recorded through the computer, which I don't have the technology to do. I can grab it from the t.v. for sure. Whoops.
I was home to catch it after all. It was kind of lame, but as was the interviewer. Justin sounded sick -- if he is, I hope he feels better in time for opening!
I TIVO'd this and have to concede that the interviewer was indeed vapid. Let us take a moment to discuss the raditude (yeah, I might've bought the new Weezer album today) that was Mr. Kirk's outfit instead. What on earth was attempted to be achieved with that color scheme? Love it.
Oh my God, yes, what was going on there? I watched it with my mother, and she was like, "Who's the funny looking guy?" He's adorable anyway, but who dressed him?!
I have tickets to go again in a few weeks. I may cave and go before that, too. I have to take advantage of seeing him on stage while I can!
