My friend recently just murdered his wife. Any good showtunes you can suggest to me so I can send to their kids to cheer them up? Thank you so much!

Well, "It Sucks to be Me" would be fitting for the children...
Showtunes about death, though...
*"Every Day a Little Death" - "A Little Night Music"
*"Come to Me" and "A Little Fall of Rain" - "Les Miserables"
*"She is a Diamond", "Eva's Final Broadcast", and "Montage - Lament" - "Evita"
*"Alabanza" and "Everything I Know" - "In the Heights"
*"No One is Alone" - "Into the Woods"
*"I'll Cover You (Reprise)" and "Goodbye Love" - "Rent"
Good luck!

Sorry to threadjack, but "Every Day A Little Death" isn't about death...
But it has "death" in the title. It totes counts. And, yes, I said totes.

I don't think that having 'death' in the title makes a song ABOUT death.
The song has nothing to do with death whatsoever. Is there death? Yes, but death of the spirit, of the heart, of love.

Piggybacking on what BrodwayBound said, "My Death" by Jacques Brel (featured in Jacques Brel is Alive and Well and Living in Paris) is an amazing song, especially as sung by Natacia Diaz on the revival cast recording. David Bowie also did a cool cover of it.

That was the point in including it, theatretrash. The OP never requested that they be about death in literal terms.
I thought "Everyday a Little Death" was about sex? Aren't they having it in the parlor and the curtains and the bread?

Am I the only person reading the title of this thread?
"showtunes ABOUT death"
Hey Chewy, you should pick better friends first of all. I am very partial to How Glory Goes from Floyd Collins. I don't think it'll cheer anyone up but it's beautiful.
