Has Vanessa Redgrave been doing the stage door thing at The Year of Magical Thinking? If she does, does anyone know how long she usually takes to come out? Does she come out after matinees?

She came out in 15 minutes and signed and chatted. She spent a good while with me talking about the show and her previous work. A beautiful person.

It took her a little longer on Friday ~ or maybe it just seemed that way because it was SO cold. But she was wonderfully gracious. Love her!

So glad to hear it! I'm going to try to get my Long Day's Journey into Night window card signed (a mini goal of mine, 4 years and counting).

But when did New Hampshire become--Such a backward wasteland of seatbelt hating crazies?...I mean, only 40 people actually live there. The others are just visitors who come for the tax-free liquor and three inches of novelty coastline. John Hodgeman on The Daily Show (1-30-07)

Hopefully she'll do it. As gracious as she was with all of us, I don't see why she wouldn't. But no one had anything but playbills, so I don't know her policy on non-playbills. (Some actors will ONLY sign playbills...though that has also changed with some as runs have gone on.) There weren't that many people there on Friday night. And I've walked by a couple of other times and there haven't seemed to be that many people there.

That's always something to consider, Jordan, but I'd like to think that as long as it's not an 8x10 or something that looks like it would be an obvious direct to eBay item, she'd still oblige.

Worth a shot, I suppose.

Yeah, like I said, I don't think she'd have a problem with it. I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

She laughed when she got to me because I'd been on the phone with my mom telling her and my dad to coordinate their calendars and I was gonna check telecharge and get a list of weekends and I would call them FIRST THING in the morning so we could get tickets when she came out. "Conning other people into coming?" she asked teasingly. I said "They're coming whether they want to or not. But they trust my opinion so they won't fuss." She laughed again. And signed my playbill nice and clear! :)

As it turns out, we'll be going the day after my birthday! If I hadn't bought the tickets, I'd say it's my present!

Like I said, I'll keep my fingers crossed! Let us know how it goes!

Thanks for the good thoughts. She seems like a very classy lady.

i saw the show on April the 7th (evening performance) and i was sad that she had another engagement and was unable to sign. thankfully, she had her people tell us right away, though, so we weren't waiting forever for a no-show.
