Negotiations have broken down yet again. They have still been unable to reach an agreement on ONE point. I don't care what anyone else says if there are talks scheduled, because the next time someone says there are, I will not believe it. Not one word. Now there is no more hope for the end of the strike. It will inevitably last through December and BEYOND THAT, maybe even forever. I knew this thing was hopeless from the beginning. Nothing has worked. Nothing will work, so let's just leave this behind and move on.
"How could she just suddenly, completely disappear into thin water?" - The Little Mermaid
LizzieCurry: How could it be shorter? (This is a serious question, not an attack. I've always wondered...)
"It means nothing to come and sit in a theater night after night and immerse yourself in fantasy, only then to walk out the door and be unchanged in reality. This show will live on in our hearts. But where it truly must survive is in our actions, our compassion and our generousity of spirit towards one another." - Adam Pascal on the closing of RENT
Also, the link is actually from the Google News link. If you actually click on it from Google News, it takes you to a shorter, direct link right from the originating site.
Alternately, you could just paste in a long URL to the "Optional Link:" field and type something in "Link Title:".
"This thread reads like a series of White House memos." — Mister Matt
Well, I guess no one is on from last night that took part in the T-shirt discussion. I was hoping to get a chuckle from reminding people about our conversation last night... but I guess not

That article is dated Sunday the 25th, and calls it a "15 day strike." We are now up to day 19. Most likely, the same thing happened with them that Playbill did- they had an article ready to go in case it was settled on Sunday.
According to one of a producer who currently has two shows affected by the strike and who is negotiating with the league right now, the only way this strike will end is if the League caves in. Apparently the league is ready to end this except Charlotte St. Martin refuses to budge. They say that she will not allow any deal to be made and she basically...sucks.
This thread will soon fade into oblivion, but I have to say, this has been a fun thread. It has been great joking and waiting out the strike with the "regulars" in this thread! I've enjoyed the long nights!
I too have had a great time staying up late with all of you guys (that kind-of sounds dirty if you think about it). But there is no one else I would stay up late with. Thanks for making this sad part of Broadway history bearable.

Don't get too excited...we all have to mop tomorrow night! Didn't you get a call from Charlotte "St." Martin or Jimmy Claffey? They took us up on our offer to mop!
