I can see it now....
Glinda descends from her bubble and mops up the stage while she sings No One Mourns the Wicked.
During the opening number of A Chorus Line, the cast dances with mops.
One of the Phantom's demands of the theatre owners will be that Carlotta must mop up the stage.
When the Spring Awakening kids get angry, instead of grabbing a microphone stand, they grab a mop.
Mary Poppins can really put those two little brats to work now.

Oh yea! And now I must try to sleep so I'm coherent for my little darlings in school tomorrow. Hopefully we'll wake to good news!!
Rest easy, jordangirl! Here's to progression! :)
I am telling 'ya T-shirts would rock. Oh, and some of these comments... Glinda mopping while singing "No One Mourns..." I was just rolling on the floor.
Maybe have the puppets from Avenue Q mop during Schadenfreude.
"Here's an idea...they all need to order that automatic mopper from the Sharper Image catalogue. Problem solved"
Believe me, that's just what this mess doesn't need: "Virtual Stagehands".
(The League tried this concept with the musicians back in 2003.)
I have no doubt the producers would have been happy to invest tens of thousands of dollars in "V.S." technology a few months ago - The Sharper Image really missed a big opportunity.
while the automatic mop thing would be neat I like either
1. Have the cast mop during the performance
or
2. Start a volunteer mopping brigade, that way we can make
t-shirts!!

you're really diggin those t-shirts, aren't you lakezurich? I almost made one for Gideon Glick that said "I was seduced by Hanschen...and all I got was this lousy t-shirt". A little of topic, sorry.

Fact of life: T-shirts make everything better
Ah, how I adore my BWW family!
In fact... now that I am thinking about it, since T-shirts make everything better we should make T-shirts for everyone negotiating at the strike meeting tonight, and we would have this problem over in like... 10 minutes.
I am not exactly sure what they should say though... what do you guys think?
"Believe me, that's just what this mess doesn't need: "Virtual Stagehands".
I was kidding, lol.
I still like the idea of the cast mopping up. And Glinda...instead of a wand, she could carry a mop.
And now, I must go to bed, or my students will wonder why I am a zombie tomorrow, and I will have to tell them, "I was up late talking about mopping." They already think I'm a nut...this will seal the deal.
Night all! I hope to awake to good news!

FRONT:
"We're not *that* bad. We beat the clock, did away with a heckova lot of hate mail, and brightened the lives in the Broadway community..."
BACK:
"And it only took us 17 days!"
maybe
Front: And We Are Telling You
Back : We're Not Mopping
If only I lived in NY and could make them and run them over to the meeting...

I'm heading to bed... The anticipation's getting to me, and seeing as I'm seeing YOUNG FRANKENSTEIN on Wednesday evening, I'll need all the sleeps my body can muster tonight. So, you guys rest easy. Here's to positive vibes throughout, and of course, a hap-hap-happy ending come daybreak. Loves.

Goodnight all, let's hope we wake up to news of the strike's end and not another week of cancelations or more negotiations. If they need to sleep, they should take shifts Anway, here's hoping! You guys have been a blast. :)
