I just heard from a friend who is currently in a show on Broadway that he was asked to report back to the theater.
Are you being serious or mocking me?

Did you need to ask 3 times?
It's true that there is no story on Playbill.com announcing the end of the strike, but the link does make it appear that they are getting ready to.
If the story is true and the strike is over, they sure wrapped that up fast. Kind of odd, considering how many issues have been reported to still be on the table.
Makes me think they were very close to a deal last weekend, but the League didn't want the Disney guy to get any credit, and the union didn't want the president of the parent union to any credit. Yes, the egos involved in this are that big.

Oh my God. Please let this be true.
I am betting it is going to be over. I was told on Wednesday about todays meeting and that the strike would most likely end today.

I got the same response when I logged onto Playbill -- that the link was no longer available. I searched all over the web and I can find NO mention of the strike being over. Not to be a wet blanket thrower, but surely SOMEONE would have picked up on it by now.

The link is gone now.
It may be that Playbill jumped the gun and had to pull the story until the League and the Union have a chance to get a press conference pulled together.
I have NY1 on, no announcement yet, but lots of positive quotes from people on both sides.

ucjrdude902 - I am actually not mocking you at all.
neddyfrank, did your friend tell you why he was asked to report to the theatre? i'm assuming it's to announce the end of the strike and to set a schedule for pick up rehearsals and re-opening dates.

Good point. However, it seems to me that there were so many thorny issues involved -- did one side just capitulate and let the other get whatever they wanted? There's been so much doggeral about this that I don't know which side is up.

No, it was a text message. It said: "Good News coming. I have to go back to theater later today." I don't know what that means, but I am assuming the strike is going to be over.
