BACK ONTOPIC:
Generally, awards come in one of three categories: performance-based (all the acting ones), production-based (things like set, lighting, costume), or creation-based (book, score).
Seeing as the gang are essentially playing heightened versions of themselves, I'd say performance-based awards are unlikely. Owing to the low-tech nature, I'd be IMMENSELY surprised if it garnered any nominations for anything production-based. We're looking at the creation-based awards for this show. And even then I just don't know if it has much of a chance. Which makes me sad to say.
Thanks for keeping it on-topic.

tos will get no nominations, sorry to say.
(and if it did, the only award it deserves is for susan, she was the best part of that show!)
ACTING: Heidi and Susan are the most likely to be nominated, at this point; I think Hunter and Jeff are more likely to score for their writing (although one might slip in if the Book & Score fields are too crowded).
If I had to choose between the two, I couldn't. Heidi has the breakout, eleven o'clock number, as well as a lot of charm, but Susan is a master mugger and gets just as much attention, if not more, than her co-star.
Really, it depends on whether the voters gravitate towards the one with more professional polish (Susan) or more "realness" (Heidi). I'm baffled right now.
TECHNICALS: If the voters are in a giddy mood, Larry Pressgrove might be nominated for his Piano Man orchestrations.
And you never know - the simpleness of [TOS] might charm enough to score the show a few nods in other categories (most likely Set ). It's not as likely, though.
BOOK & SCORE: I don't know, honestly... like I said before, Jeff and Hunter have a better chance of being nominated here than in Acting (although there is a caveat, as I also said). But there are enough new musicals opening this year that a spot for either isn't guaranteed.
It is likely, though.

I think it definitely has a shot at multiple nominations. Probably for either book or score, doubtfully both...and it could very well sneak in last minute and get a Best Musical nomination. Assuming 9 TO 5, BILLY ELLIOT, and SHREK all get nominated, that last slot is pretty much wide open...and none of the three aforementioned shows (besides maybe BILLY) are locks. I think it's a definite dark horse possibility for Best Musical...it obviously wouldn't win but it would be nice to see it get mentioned.

"I can see it for Best Musical or does it have to be open for that?"
Nope -- it can be nominated for (and potentially win) anything it qualifies for, even if it closes before the Tonys.
They do have a rule now that closed shows (I want to say "closed more than 3 months before the broadcast" but I might be remembering wrong) can't *perform* on the Tonys, so if they were nominated for Best Musical and closed by then, they'd probably get a little video clip montage at some point during the broadcast (like Big River and Pacific Overtures did) rather than a live performance.
Stupidbeans - shut your face, asswipe!!! You have NOT been here for 10 days. You are Cartanega614. You had a meltdown in July and spammed the board. You are a sock puppet. F*ck yourself and leave.
OK I'm tired of all the fighting so I'm Makeing a thread in the ot board called fight. you @sses can fight there. stay on topic!

I think it has a chance as book definetly.
I really don't think Hunter or Jeff have any chance but I could see one of the girls taking it, especially Heidi.

Of the four I could see Susan as the most likely to get an acting nom. I think its best shot at a nommination is Score, but it all of course depends on what the fall and spring bring.
oh and it staying open would be a big help for nomminations

The show does not need to be running, though it does help.
The only requirement is that the League has to feel that it was open long enough for a majority of the Tony voters to have seen it, which it has been, as opposed to something like Glory Days, which clearly lasted nowhere near long enough.
I don't see it getting nominated for any of the design awards, except for maybe sound design, considering some of the shows it will be up against.

im hoping it gets the following nominations
best musical
best score
best book
best supporting actress - susan blackwell.
if there's any justice in the world, title of show will be remembered in some capacity. then i remember that we live in a godless wasteland.....
I very early in the season to guess, but I would bet Book and Featured Actress for either Heidi or Susan.

It will ABSOLUTELY get a Best Musical nomination. It's a little show with a great message for artists that openly talks about wanting to be accepted in the theater community. The Tony committee will eat that sh*t up.

Unfortunately that's not what the Tony committee is always about. Remember the grumbling after Avenue Q won over Wicked and then later announced that they would not be doing a national tour initially but were just going to do the sit down in Vegas? The message there seemed to be that they gave Avenue Q the Tony to help them on the road with advertising, since it wasn't the mega-giant that Wicked was, and then felt like Avenue Q didn't "fulfill their part of the bargain" so to speak.

Isn't sad the the 3 top contenders for best musical (so far we still got a year left folks) are not original musicals....I think it will be nominated for best book (and should win quite frankly) also its score and both actress....I think 13 and TOS are the only original musicals opening this season (correct me if I am wrong) TOS is not my favorite show but I do give i BIG props for being something simple and unique. I think TOS should get nominated for best musical and at the Tony;s perform the song "original musical" to rub it in everyones faces (it will be like Passing Strange last year "we know we are closing soon but we are going to to a big **** you everybody we rock at the Tony awards show..and still win best book...just like Passing Strange did last year)

I'm in love with Susan so I'm biased, but I think both she and Heidi have better chances at acting nods than the boys. And if she doesn't win one now, I think Heidi's inevitably going to get one (a nomination) someday.
If nothing else, it's brought them all visibility and hopefully viability.
Hunter and Jeff for Score and Book and hopefully Musical.
