I've never see it on Broadway and just saw the movie so my comments based what I personally think.
Ensemble/Chorus: Was really good actually. They harmonized beautifully and worked well together. The Ladies rocked and I mean rocked the house with Cell Block Tango.
Melanie Waldren: Was Velma Kelly. She was good but wasn't great. I thought her voice was to low to be Velma but she did pull of an amazing ALL THAT JAZZ and a superb CELL BLOCK TANGO. You could tell that she was getting tired towards the end in my opinion. Overall I'd give her a B-
Lindsay Roginski: Roxie Hart. She was great. I mean pulled the character off to a T. She really knew the character of Roxie and knew how to portay it! I mean she should according to her bio she sold merchandise for Chicago in NYC for years. Ill give her a A.
Brent Hueser: Billy Flynn. He was also very good. He knew when to pull the charm and put on the devilish side of Billy. He really fit in with the two ladies. Ready for Broadway? I don't know about that but he was good. Since he's a cutie I'll give him an A.
Kelli Michelle Blackwell: Mama Morton. WOAH! This girl can sing. I mean WOAH WOAH. She was perfect for the part. I can only assume with it being a non-eq tour she isnt gettin paid for what she deserves. She was brilliant and after every time she sang the crowd went nuts. Give the girl her card now and get on the Great White Way!
Overall I'm going to give the show a A. Being that they've been doing the show forever and I can only assume are getting tired it was a great night of theatre!
Any questions or comments?

All I know is ever since I saw CHICAGO on broadway last December---I am now a CHICAGO addict. That shows just knocks me out.
The CHICAGO Broadway Revival is sooooo 90's!
(yawn)
I saw this tour a few months ago. It was very enjoyable, but I agree with you about Velma's character - not up to par with the rest. It seemed like most of her scenes with the Matron were very rushed.
Glad you had fun ucjrdude902! Thanks for your review!
How was the person that played Mary Sunshine? Was he any good?
Actually this a brand new tour that just opened Jan. 13 in Binghamton. I hope Lindsay and Kelli get their chance in Chicago on Broadway. Joseph London (Mary Sunshine) suprised me he was so good and I had no idea it was a man having only seen the movie before, but I was curious to why all Mary's had intial instead of their name. I saw the tour on it's grand opening night in Binghamton.
P.S. I have HQ pics of the tour cast if anyone is interested (actual pics not the black and white poses)

I saw this tour last month and thought it was very good.
Im not sure if we saw the same Mary Sunshine, but I saw J. London and he was really good. I always love seeing the crowds reaction during his "reveal".
why is Mary Sunshine played by a man?
Mary Sunshine is ALWAYS played by a man. Since the original production.
It's suppose to symbolize how "not everything is what it seems." Which is one of themes of the musical.
I love with Chicago is its simplicity, so it's not like seeing a tour just the actual Broadway version.
