Hey, I'm thinking about auditioning for Naked Boys Singing in Provincetown next week. I've never seen the show but it sounds like a lot of fun and my friends say I'd be perfect for it. Not knowing the style of the show do you guys have any suggestions for songs to sing? They want funny.
Also, Next to Normal=AMAZING

^^I'd have to agree with CurtainPullDowner. The right look is most important, then followed by having some singing talent.
I'd also recommend renting the DVD to give you an idea of the show.
And hehe, I'm such a teenage boy, because when madbrain suggested "Great Big Stuff" as an audition song, I giggled because yes, my brain went there.

I did the show here in NYC. I don't recall what I prepared for the audition but they didn't even let me sing it. They wanted to hear something wordy. This was to ensure diction and volume - being that you are not mic-ed (at least in the NY production).
Doesn't answer your question, I know.
And you have no idea what look they are going for? When I was in the show, they were after all types. They wanted everyone to feel like their type was up on stage (ie Jock, Muscle Twink Bear and anything in between).
