rebecca luker
put her next to a piece of paper and it's hard to say which one has more stage personality.
and to those who bitch and whine about how this is such a bad thread....there are bad people EVEN on Broadway. yes..even professionals who suck. as consumers, everyone has the right to say what they want.
It's the business. It's not all "show".

Rebecca Luker is a leading lady dude. She was wonderful in "Music Man".
"I'm learning to dig deep down inside and find the truth within myself and put that out. I think what we identify with in popular music more than anything else is when someone just shares a truth that we can relate to. That's what I'm searching for in my music." - Ron Bohmer
"I broke the boundaries. It wasn't cool to be in plays- especially if you were in sports & I was in both." - Ashton Kutcher

I disagree.
And Linda Eder is a diva, everyone knows that.

Who pissed in your Cheerios this morning, MusicalComedyMan? Rebecca Luker and Linda Eder are big stars. Sorry, they don't tickle your fancy.

Just because someone is a "star" doesn't make them good. Just because someone's husband writes a show and makes them cast her in it... doesn't mean she can act. And if you can't act - join the opera, do concerts, go on American Idol, BUT don't do musical theatre!!!

MusicalComedyMan-
I saw Linda Eder in Camille Claudel fairly recently, and she was perfect. You must be judging her acting skills from Jekyll and Hyde where the book isnt very strong to begin with. I think you should give this incredible woman another chance.

When the revival of "Joseph...Dreamcoat" played on Broadway several years back there were a few people in the ensemble who didn't belong there. They were blatantly walking through the show and joking around on stage. If you're bored with your Broadway chorus job, then quit, and let someone who wants to perform for a paying audience do so.
There was also a female chorus member in "42nd Street" doing the same thing. It's very distracting when people are walking through the show. They stick out.
Just my 2 cents.

I have to agree with Benzy. I also saw Camille Claudel this past summer and thought Eder was fantastic in it. Jekyll & Hyde did very little for me however.

I like Rebecca Luker...
Was it someone on this thread that said they dislike Daphne Rubin Vega?
I love her! HerI voice is very raspy and more rock and roll- but its still unique and different. Her voice can be picked out of a crowd, which can be a good thing and in her case it is! Yes, very true she can only play certain roles like Magenta- where her voice can go all over the place and it will be considered normal- and Mimi- which is indeed crazy- OUT TONIGHT!! But shes still awesome. Cant wait to see her down in the Tropics!

Marissa Jaret Winokur should never have been on Broadway but even worse is Sean Puffy Colms...this is possibly the worst casting ploy ever.
