do you think they would ever pull a Hairspray and make a Xanadu movie musical based on the broadway musical?

No. Xanadu isn't recognizable to a wide audience and wouldn't be able to find one unless some really, really big stars were in it.

It kind of screams flop.

haha, yeah i guess it did, although, the producers wasnt an "awful 80's movie turned fabulous musical" it was more of a "great movie turned great musical"

I would LOVE to see it happen! Much more so than Wicked. But, sadly, I don't think it will ever happen.

And "The Producers" pulled a "Little Shop of Horrors".

Except pulling a "Little Shop of Horrors" made a pretty darn good movie, not a terrible big-budget Lincoln Center video with one or two okay moments.

I think XANADU was already a Bad Movie/Musical.

I personally don't think it would work. Besides, the movie already had pretty much the same songs in it, and it was not good. The musical poked fun at the movie, plus the music was much more tolerable to listen to, thanks to the wonderful cast. I think mostly the parodies would make it not work on the big screen.

^^ Agreed! I would love to see it happen, but it wouldn't work, and I wouldn't want to ruin the memories I have of seeing this show live. Honestly some of the most fun I have ever had in a theater in my life!
