Disney's Snow White 2025
 Dec 5 2024, 11:15:09 PM
I thought the trailer looked terrible, even for Disney live action standards (of which I do not have a high opinion). Rachel’s acting seemed strange (read: bad), the dwarves looked weird, and Gal is way prettier than Rachel making the whole “fairer” plot seem illogical (although her acting is worse, which is almost impressive). The only thing that looked appealing to me were the animated bunnies.

When I went last night, signed retro playbills were $100 each and signed posters $200 each.

they also had 1 framed item of the theater and I think it was $300.

The posters are still at $200 and tonight they were selling 2 signed copies of the Shakespeare books used during the show. I picked up o

I haven't seen it yet, but I wonder if the seating section makes a difference? I would assume the upper levels may naturally be warmer than the orchestra section?

I was in the balcony this afternoon and was freezing the whole time.

The wedding sponsor for opening night was “Wicked the Musical. I have been changed for good.”
Got huge applause.

At the end as they’re walking away and asking what they should do tomorrow the answer was “watch Rachel Maddow?”

I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Even more than when I saw it in Chicago. As others have said, Act 2 is definitely weaker, but I think the changes they made helped as much as possible given the plot. I do think the Texas switch is used a few too many times

Wow. I was NOT expecting the tickets to be that expensive. Or that limited. Glad I logged on well before noon.

It looks like it’s on Apple Music, Spotify, and YouTube.

I absolutely love this movie and always thought it would be a great stage show for the holidays a la Elf (and I don’t even like Christmas or Christmas movies in general). I listen to it year round. Might actually make a trek up to Goodspeed to see it.
Gavin Creel has passed away

I’m devastated to see this news. I had the chance to meet him and chat for a while after a performance of Dolly and he was just so incredibly kind. His performances were always just so joyous and charming. He will definitely be missed.

Much more positive than I think the show deserves.

I saw the show Sunday night and I completely agree with the other commenters regarding this production. It is over-choreographed and under-rehearsed. There were some lovely moments, but overall it just felt messy.

The choreography felt a lot like the recent Sweeney Todd production on Broadway, which is not surprising given that Sweeney felt a bit like Hamilton choreography taken too far (I thought this might have been a Tommy Kail influence given that he directed both but they had diffe

7 or 8 o’clock curtain?

7pm. I live in Philly and a 7pm curtain means I can get the 10pm train home on a two show Wednesday. Otherwise I’m limited to what I can see for the evening show, or I have to drive to Trenton and take the train from there. 7pm is just so much easier all around for me.

I know he had no chance, but I think Brian had one of the best performances I’ve seen in years and he deserved this award.

Agreed! But you’d think they would get an actual football player. Not someone from the Jets. 😜

Whoever is directing this year’s Tonys should be fired before the show even ends. It has been horrible. Between the camera cuts and closeups, the unnecessary spinning on stage, the lighting mistakes, and just the all around bad choices, it’s been embarrassingly bad.

They didn’t waste any time. I already got an email with the presale info.

I really love that they’re making changes every day, but I do think they probably could have probably waited an extra few months and done a bit more work. That said, I’ll definitely go see it again in NYC (and I’m trying to figure out if I can make it back to Chicago before it closes).

It’s too bad they aren’t able to get a different Viola. Michelle sounds amazing, but the acting just isn’t there. The material for Viola needs some work, but I don’t think anything will help her. Love the rest of the cast though and I’m excited to see it after they’re even more settled into their characters.

Dame Judi : Trigger Warnings

I don’t get why people get so triggered by trigger warnings. If they don’t apply to you, great. Just ignore them. It’s what I do. If they’re helpful for people to know what’s coming, great. They can read them. A couple of words before a performance/movie/tv show hardly seems like a big deal to me.

I also had wished the large angel grave opened up (almost like the vial container does) to reveal Viola delivering her last lyric. Also, there HAS to be a way to implement the signature ending of the film in there with the two women collapsing down the stairs an
