I understood what the "read the room" comment meant. This wasn't a "typical murder." It was a viral event that could be viewed from multiple angles. I can understand someone commenting on that and not other deaths. But I don't pay much attention to her socials so I don't know how often KC comments on such things. But after a year I don't think Rosie is doing anything wrong and I highly doubt she would be fond of a homophobe.

I just listened to a wonderful "radio play" version done via zoom in 2020. It's on YouTube and worth checking out. I had no prior knowledge of the play, and I was afraid of the ending getting spoiled before I got to the Hudson. I think it's a beautiful play with some of the most elegantly crafted exposition. He's not Joshua Henry but I was surprised at how good he sounds after reading such negativity here. It is clear that the cast is not being directed the same way the would be in a full production; this is just an attempt to create buzz and in that context the performances are fine.

Yeah, I'm not sure the producers of this show are attempting to uphold white supremacy. The more likely explanation is they can't get anyone with a name (be they Asian, black, white etc) to star in this thing and boost the box office. So they just promoted the understudy because that's the easiest thing to do.
