No shade to Shaw but Auggie27 should have gotten the job.

Too bad this production is only the beginning of his comeback. And f*CK you for being happy that people who did nothing wrong are out of work.

Imagine being bothered enough by a YouTuber that you fantasize about them being killed. Ignoring him is the easiest thing in the world. But you are clearly one of several disturbed weirdos this site attracts like moths to a flame.

THE QUEEN OF VERSAILLES To Close January 4, 2026

I’ve been seeing people celebrate the closure, while others scold them for being insensitive because a company is suddenly out of work. Both reactions skip over something that feels obvious to anyone who’s worked in this business for more than a minute.

A closing isn’t the end of employment on that stage

Smash made more sense than putting titanique in a big Broadway house.

His take seems completely reasonable and respectful. There has been a glee in trashing this show here and especially Reddit.

It is interesting how narratives form. When other shows close quickly we get the "why aren't audiences supporting new work?" Funny how no one is asking that about Versailles, it's mostly "ha ha they got what they deserve."

Jonathan Groff Sets 2025 Broadway Return with JUST IN TIME?
 Nov 23 2025, 04:28:45 PM

"But I guess New Yorkers love their gross stars. That's how we get Groff spitooning over people who have spent $500 for the privilege. For the red bucket auction last night he had two people who really wanted his bow tie and got the price up to $3600. Then one of the ladies said, "can't you you sign a second tie?" And sure enough he had a second tie so sold them each one for $3600. Actually, first she said when it had reached $3600 & he wondered if she'd go high

Variety: Barbara Broccoli to Produce 'Othello' Film in Doha

I kept looking to see who the Iago is, but unless I missed it, no one is listed. Daniel Craig was in the stage production, and given Ms. Broccoli's relationship with the Bond series, you could assume that this film version was planned around him returning to the role.

I feel terrible for my friend Laura. I told her not to get the shot if she didn't want to, and that everyone would probably be chill about it, and that her career would not suffer. It seems like that was terrible advice.

I have to say that I expected more reviews like Sara Holdren
