Hotel recommendation for future trip Nov 21
2024, 03:13:15 PM
I regularly stay at the Renaissance Hotel Times Square and can usually find a good deal if I book far enough out or buy as part of a flight/hotel package. As far as hotels in the area go, the rooms are quite large.

I’m so curious to know if anyone else from the board catches this and what they think.
Cheyenne Jackson is the one saving grace here. I missed seeing Kevin Cahoon in Shucked, but I can say, without a doubt, his Albin is the single most grating musical theater performance i have ever witnessed. Based on Oh, Mary!, I expected Sam Pinkleton’s direction to be tight or at least… competent. Not sure I’ve ever gone into a theater with optimism and come out f

Did the renovation unleash a curse? I figured anything could do better than Ben Platt's half-filled residency, yet here we are.

The Palace hasn’t been this empty since that Ben Platt residency.

TAMMY FAYE Previews Oct 29
2024, 11:21:26 PM
I saw tonight's performance and, at first, I didn't understand how this had an Olivier-winning run in London when it's so completely shapeless and devoid of identity. I didn't realize it was a limited run for like a month and a half. They're clearly working through a lot in previews, and I feel bad for Christian Borle and especially Michael Cerveris, who are great talents given way too little to do. (If only Borle got a fraction of the material Andr

DEATH BECOMES HER Previews Oct 28
2024, 11:26:13 PM
No understudies at tonight’s performance. I’m sure people will be divided on their favorites, but I thought Jennifer Simard did a brilliant job of bringing her own comic sensibilities to the role while paying homage to Goldie Hawn.
For those keeping track, the wedding this time was sponsored by Chili’s.

Does anyone know if Telecharge releases blocks of tickets with any rhyme or reason? I was hoping to see the June 12 matinee but the ticket availability is slim pickings while most other dates have tons of options.

THE OUTSIDERS to release cast album on May 22 May 22

Dkinny23 said: "I've had Throwing in the Towel on non-stop repeat! I think it's actually my favorite song from the album. I saw the show in previews and then again after it "opened". There were no changes to the song from what I could tell. I think it's that the actors have settled more into their roles and it translates into their songs. The grit and emotion coming through these guys is palpable, at least to me. Totally agree that the whole album is gorgeous an

THE OUTSIDERS Opening Night Critics’ Reviews Apr 14
2024, 04:08:19 AM
I went into Saturday night’s performance a little skeptical and left a fan. “Throwin’ in the Towel” was the knockout in the score for me. The only bummer was I was excited to see Brody Grant. (Trevor Wayne went on in his place.) Hoping for Tony noms for Emma Pittman and Joshua Boone.

THE WHO’S TOMMY Broadway Previews Apr 11
2024, 10:16:00 PM
An utterly soulless production engineered for nostalgic, near-catatonic Boomers. I rewatched the movie recently, which has such raw intensity, while this is just blinding lights and bombast. Those awkward, pregnant pauses and the choppy vocals on “Pinball Wizard” will stay with me for a long while.
I sincerely hope this misses out on a Tony nom for Best Revival.
