My fiancee and I are going to be visiting NY in order to see the Hugh Jackman concert at Radio City, as well as Old Friends. I will probably see a couple more shows on my own, but that's what we have locked in. We are visiting Thursday April 17 to Sunday the 20th.
My usual go-to hotel for theater trips has been the Michelangelo on West 51st and 7th (behind the Winter Garden theater), but they are already booked for that weekend, except for their most expensive suites. I am assuming it's because of Easter Weekend. So, I am turning to you good people for some of your favorite hotels in the theater district. I'm hoping to maybe find some holiday or Black Friday deals if possible.
I regularly stay at the Renaissance Hotel Times Square and can usually find a good deal if I book far enough out or buy as part of a flight/hotel package. As far as hotels in the area go, the rooms are quite large.
In the theater district, I like the Algonquin, Iroquois, Muse, and Casablanca. The rooms in these are going to be a bit smaller than the Michelangelo but overall the hotels are at the same level of quality. Probably will be pretty pricey on a holiday weekend, though.
Just remembering you've had an "and"
When you're back to "or"
Makes the "or" mean more than it did before
CIVILIAN at 8th Ave and W 48th is our favorite by a mile for anyone on BWW who by definition is a theater lover. Great location, great touches in decor designed by Bway designer David Rockwell, wallpapers made from Bway costume sketches, 2 dozen set models of the latest shows permanently displayed on the second floor breakfast room, memorabilia in glass cases from the last 50 years. This past month the memorabilia included a handful of Jo Mielziner's ORIGINAL charcoal and pencil sketches for Death of a Salesman from 1948!!
(Ok, I'm biased-- I drafted Rapunzel's Tower for the OBC of Into The Woods on Bway and their display case contains the original model piece!)
Stayed with some friends at the Rui Times Square (the one across from the Palace) last year and loved it. From location to the rooms. A lot of the reviews when I looked it up talk about long waits at the elevators but I never had that happen. The price we got at the time was also very reasonable.
I'm going to see Hugh Jackman and some other shows in July next year and I'm glad I didn't book Easter weekend because I thought about it but figured the hotels would be more expensive. I would suggest checking out The Warwick - they have a great Black Friday special with everything 30% off - need to book by 12/2 and its pre-payment - but they have some good rates for that weekend - all things considered. $332 for King City view room and $368 per night for a Junior Suite with views of 6th avenue. We ended up booking a great rate in July for a one-bedroom double/double suite - city view for only $300 a night - it was an amazing deal. And it's a great location if you're going to Radio City.

I've been considering planning a Broadway trip on those exact dates! Last time I went I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn, which was nice and very close to all of the theaters. When I checked Expedia a little bit ago The Flat stood out as having a low price, but it's a little further of a walk and the price is so cheap I started wondering what the catch would be.
The Flat on W24? I think the catch is most rooms don't have their own washrooms.
For budget hotel choices I've stayed at Heritage Hotel on W25. But they're rates have jumped recently. I stayed there for $150/night after covid in 2022 & that's all it's worth.
The place I stayed just the other week looks already booked for that week in Easter: Riverside Towers on W80 down the block from Zabar's.
