For a positive thread, what was the nomination that made you the happiest?
Eli Gelb for his performance in Stereophonic. A role that could have easily been overlooked, but he has the best (and subtlest) arc in the show.
So many to be excited about! I know that Daniel Radcliffe was a guarantee nom, but I'm so happy for Mr. Radcliffe after being ignored so many times by the nominating team. His work in Merrily (and other shows!) is exemplary and I'm so glad he has finally been recognized.

David Byrne & Fatboy Slim for best score

Dede Ayite's costumes for Appropriate.
Kara Young for PURLIE VICTORIOUS
I will personally run her Tony campaign.
Not a single nomination, but the several featured nominations for the cast of Stereophonic. I feel bad for the two guys who didn't get nominated. If there was a case for an ensemble Tony. it's this show.
I'm going to cheat here and say as a follow up, I'm happy for William Jackson Harper as I thought he was the best thing about Uncle Vanya.
Maybe not my single favorite, but did anyone else think the Stereophonic set looked COMFY af?
Like it probably stinks in there (cigarettes, booze, possibly some puke), but I could curl up and take a nap on that stage.

THRILLED to see Betsy Aidem recognized, especially considering she was going up against a bunch of TV/Movie stars.
I said before, but I’m very happy for Tom Pecinka, the one Stereophonic acting nominee I didn’t correctly predict. I considered him for the nod but thought he might be held back by his role as the most unsympathetic character in the show. I’m glad I was wrong.
As noted above though, I feel a bit bad for the two remaining cast members left out. Andrew R. Butler was obviously unlikely to be recognized for the most out of focus role, but I wonder how close Chris Stack was to a nod.
I'm genuinely thrilled that Daniel Radcliffe finally picked up a nomination after turning in really stellar theatre work for a decade and a half. He's wonderful in Merrily, and I'm happy he was finally recognized. All of the nominations for Stereophonic have also made me even more excited to see it in a week!

I screamed when I saw Here Lies Love get a score nom, as that was one I thought would be a long shot. There are others I'm happy about, but this was the biggest surprise that I was most excited for.

Amy Ryan for Doubt. She took on one of the great roles in 21st century drama with a week's notice and was absolutely tremendous. Maybe not a perfect production, but that was a performance for the ages

Daniel Radcliffe finally getting a nom was something really incredible.
I was at the first preview of ''Merrily We Roll Along'' at NYTW and was blown away when he first finished ''Franklin Shepard, INC'', really hope he gets the Tony!

Not really a single nomination, but Brody, Josh, and Sky from The Outsiders all being nominated made me happy. This shows how strong the show is, with a powerful story and a great ensemble of actors.

So THAT'S why I kept falling asleep!! The couch looked so comfy!!!
I was at work and I actually jumped for joy when Roger got his nomination because I adore that man so much. I guess you all think I'm nuts. Whatever. That man's work makes me very happy and it makes a lot of BTTF fans very happy. At the end of the day, Radcliffe is going to win and I won't be mad about it because I thought he was fantastic in Merrily.

Take your sarcasm and shove it up your snooty arse. What exactly is it that you people have against joy and happiness? I have known some very dark times fairly recently with depression and the boost that this show (and finding Roger's work because of it) has given me is absolutely not something I'm going to apologise for.

I can’t get it to one, so I will cheat. Daniel Radcliffe, who should have had several nominations by now; and Rachel McAdams, who took a big risk tackling that role as her Broadway debut.

This is what is known as a "straw man."
