Saw this today. I think they’ve made some cuts since but I agree with a lot of the above points. Hanks’ hands did seem to stop shaking even as he does feel a bit old for the part as written - he has some very nice moments though. O’Hara steals the whole thing in act 2. 

I also went in fresh besides knowing the premise but did hear people talking about the changes. Slight trims could probably help but there’s enough chaos to keep it moving. The cow number was hilarious even if out of left field plot wise. 

Sound mixing in the balcony for the opening was rough. 

That was a delight. Maybe my favorite since Titanic last summer. Great cast. Butler would get a Tony nomination if this transferred.

So there are now 3 theaters seemingly left for the spring

I know Purple Rain is rumored to be the Majestic. 

If Wanted to the Jones did fall through, could Galileo go there ? 

And what could fill the Winter Garden ?

Last night was electric. As tight as it was in October. Nicole sounded wonderful and held the note in Goodbye for 30s ? Donica’s voice is like butter for this score. Liked the young leads too. 

Very appreciative audience that I’m sure will get only more as the weekend goes on. 

Just like Gypsy would be New Orleans set.
